Bill...i am absolutely certain you would compromise the Structural Intergrity of the Rod Blank by Engraving anything on it with a Rotary tool...i would stick with the Decal...Tried, Tested, and True so to speak...Cheers!!!

I don't Power wrap and the Rubber Rollers only made contact with with the Composite Cork...point being...no pressure on the Cork per se. So i Boiled the Kettle, poured a small portion the Boiled water on a Cotton/ Terry Cloth, like a wash cloth. Hold the Cloth for

46. Re: snake skin
Julian, you definitely need to apply CP to the Snakeskin prior tp your Epoxy finish. i use two coats and make certain the skin is completely covered. Any small areas not covered by CP will allow the Epoxy finish to turn the Snakeskin transparent. hope this is of some help...Cheers!!...Wayne

Michael, im a great admirer of your work. i have been Building Custom Rods for 26 years. Thanks in large part to Dale Clemons Book, and enough common sense to read back to back before begining my first Rod. From the very begining i was confident enough in my abilities that in as far as Quality and perfomance is concerned i would have put any of those Rods up against anyones. Please don't mistake

Gerald...it has been my experience over the years to lay down a coat of epoxy finish on the blank before applying the Decal. It sounds as though you have done the same...this is Good. More importantly i learned a Long time ago not to touch the underside of the Label with Anything!!! Not even my very expensive surgical tweezers. What i do is wear non powdered Surgical/ Examination gloves, then tak

Bill...i would think a Hole saw would be your best bet, if you have a Drill press the Job will be made that much faster...by hand is fine as well after all the 2x10 is softwood, consequently the 1/ 2" Hole Saw will walk through the wood quite easily....Cheers!!!.....Wayne

Mike ...if that is the case . i can only see one reason for the inner Plastic tube...it must run the same length as the two hoods and the insert combined..correct???..Therefore it sleeves through all 3 components, and that is what will ultimately bind everything together via Epoxy adhesive.

Mike...Does the Carbon Fibre insert have Tenons at each end in order for the front and rear hood to sleeve over??... if so, i dare say the plastic tube would not be required to align or otherwise be required to glue the assembly together. if it is...just take great care that any epoxy does not seep down through and fuse the tube inside the insert and front and rear hoods. Hope this is of some hel
