You can use a cheap, pre-formed cork grip instead of hard-core foam. Dirt cheap, lightweight and readily available. Just cover the cork with a thin layer of 5-minute epoxy, slip the carbon-fiber over the grip use a twist-tie to secure the ends. Wait 10 minutes, then finish however you'd like.

Thanks, Jim. Let me know when Fuji comes out with innovations that are of minimal cost or free. (LOL) I'm going to the car dealership today and demand they sell me a new car at 2005 prices.

I'm certain that each board sponsor has a contact number on its website. If you don't like the shipping policy plainly stated on the website, then pick up the phone and have the guts to discuss the policy with the vendor. Seems a bit cowardly to place an order, confirm it twice after the shipping total is included, then come on the board to bit@# about the vendor.

1. The decal machine-took me 2 minutes to make the decision to drop $200. Phenomenal product; 2. Rod Geeks-Ditto what has been said; 3. DBlue-Great new products in the catalog; 4. Swampland-Lance is a class act and his wife is precious-his booth was organized and spacious, like walking into a retail store. Components were on racks, not in buckets and the blanks were vertical and organiz

It was my distinct pleasure last night to speak to a group of veterans from Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Crystal Coast Program on the topic of fishing rod building. These disabled vets are entered in a national rod building contest with all the other national chapters. A good many of these veterans sustained psychological injuries during deployments and the Project Healing Waters uses fly

I have a customer who wants a Carolina Blue spinning rod. As a UNC hating Wake Forest Alum, I will hold my nose and build it for her if I can find a blank in this "offending" color!! Any sources? I've got no interest in painting a blank. Thanks all!

I have accumulated a large quantity of custom rods I've built over the years. Most are prototypes, some of which have been fished, some never fished. There are fly rods from 2-wt to 12 weight and spinning rods of all lengths and lure weights. I need to free up space and I'm tired of looking at these rods, which I'll probably never fish with again. I don't want to give them away either but do want
