This ranchers brand is the L6 but the 6 is open. Used a nice grain piece of darker red wood for the butt piece. I inlayed Gudebrod Metallic combo Gold/Black for the inner ring and Green and Gold for the outter ring. I then carefully scratched and trenched out the L6 in the center and then carefully inlayed it. Dripped Threadmaster over it for the clear seal.Lots of work went into this baby but

Andy's 5 min gel used to make the ramp. Can shape it with finger or flat edge of yogurt cup lid held at desired angle. I turn it by hand while doing this. Touch up quickly with denatured. Sand lightly, wrap thread up the ramp and finish with a tiny drop of fishing-super glue. Slick!

A seven ring section of Birch Rings is the center of this fly handle. Checkered foam done on JJ's Jig from Custom Tackle. I'll 'Barkley' inlay something into the end piece. Couple of coats of Birchwood Casey should make it jump.

Birch rings from Canadian fishing trip. Cut by hand, punched out with a 22 shell casing. Rubber/cork gasket rings frame the ends. 30 min epoxy on waxed all-thread. Fun! (will try the 15 min gel when Andy gets it out)

197. Epoxy Removal
Heated guide lightly, removed thread and then guide. Scraped firmly with fingernail and then a grooved out plastic spoon. Still a little epoxy left on blank. Is there some 'around the home' items that can be safely used to get that last epoxy off? WD 40, Coca Cola, Baking Soda etc. Thanks

Just the reel seat? Not the handle? Just the reel seat would be pretty easy. Let me know .

Be aware that no fish you catch is concerned about the handle on your rod.

Kinda reminds me of the story of the old Doctor and George Washington! ... George was quite ill. The old doctor was surgically 'bleeding him' of bad blood. A younger doctor seriously questioned him about the properness of this procedure?! The old doctor sternly proclaimed he had been doing this for over 30 years with hundreds of very ill patients! And that he had learned it from the best surgeon

203. Re: informed choices
I am in my 70's now and have fished all my life and predominately fly fished the last 50 years. Lots of rods and reels and fish. I would confidently speculate that over 95% of the fish I have ever caught, I would have also caught if: the rod had rod had been a half'' longer or shorter, if the rod had been a smidge heavier or lighter, if the rod had cost $50 more or $50 less, if the rod had been a

Christian, I have posted pics in the photo section of a homemade 'tube boiler tower' I use to remove reel seats. I have removed many with this. Check it out!

Nathan, I posted a 'Homemade Boiling Tower' I made for safely heating Handle/Reel Seats for removal. I posted some pictures of it in Grips and Handles. I have removed many reel seats from rods with this tool. I wrap a long rubber innertube strand grip around the rod blank and I have a ring circle of wire just above the the tube to keep the rod centered so it doesn't touch the hot sides of the top
