Dear Justin, The RX8+ series is to be inspected for straight edge. If there is no straight edge to build on they are rejected. Personally I build on the spine rather than the straight edge so if you are not completely satisfied with your RX8+ then by all means send it back for replacement. In the meantime we will inspect our inventory once again for quality assurance. Sorry

Drop us a line I would be happy to help. I'm suspicion you may have a color that we no longer sell however we do have some stock of the discontinued colors available. Our part numbers take a bit of getting used to but once you figure them out they start to make since. Karry

Assuming you have the Batson Dream Reamer kit or at least the XL size .575 x .650 you would simply chuck it into your cordless drill and ream both ends carefully until its perfect. Under power reaming out to .880 would not be that big of deal. If your doing that size of cork by hand old school reamers then all I can say is painful.

We test all of our blanks for maximum pound break strength by pulling the tip to failure. This is not a test that you would want to do on your own blank but these are test that we run during design. We have not decided to post such findings but I have shared a few with some folks who have asked for them. I would assume you could set your drags to these ratings without failure to the blank for the

Shoot me an email and I will send the ones your interested in. We never really documented them because we did not feel at that time it was an important fact to offer to the end users but I find them interesting personally so that's why I posted these while they were in front of me. I do have the data but will have to grab the approved samples for you. Karry

The New Musky blanks are amazing with pound break strength that would pull a truck. What does this information tell you you may ask. When we design a blank we also test them to failure by applying pound drag from the tip and pulling the rod until it explodes. Its probably not a test you would want to try at home. The tip is actually pulled almost past the butt to reach this type of failure. If an

After several request in regards to our Lure ratings on the new SUR( Rainshadow Surf Blanks) series. We asked Nick Meyer to run a full test on our blanks to come up with his professional advice on how he would rate them. After several months he did just that. If some of you do not know who Nick Meyer is, well you could check out one of his web sites at or and take a look at a few of his Books
