I have a cheap vernier that measures in 64ths. I do like it for comparing parts but that's about all it's good for. I've used digital ones and really like them, but I'm too cheap to buy one for myself. For actually measuring things, I'm in the short line with Ralph using an old micrometer.

I use a DC210 and compared to many pics that get posted, I'm not happy. The macro is great, but I have no midrange capability to photo a grip assembly. Also, even in macro, there are certain shades of color that it just won't pick up, especially blues. If I use 4 shades of blue, my camera only picks up one color... blue. I'm very interested in answers to this one as I almost posted a similar question myself today out of general curiousity. I've never been asked to repair a glass rod. Doing graphite repairs, fiberglass is used. What is used for fiberglass repair? My common sense is confused on this one. Part of me thinks fiberglass as well, but my other and sometimes dumber side of me thinks using glass might
