Its all about profit and selling and nothing else. Facts, technology, and even source of manufacture are all thrown out the window as slave labor creates much of the holy grail products for us and once imported prices are jacked up artificially inflated through the roof and they expect us to just keep shelling out the dough for it all. You know, pay peanuts to make it in China where they cannot c

I just looked up your 801 vibration detector and found it is analog. How is this used with a rod blank? And what is your source of vibration to be detected?

In that other thread I mentioned flush cut super sharp side cutters Plato 170's which beats scissors that cannot get close enough and sometimes a razor blade simply will not do it. So my final solution that has worked and may not be recommended around here but I have used a lighter and flame to melt it and then push with finger and it will usually disappear. And I do this before any epoxy goes on

Try some really sharp wire cutters or sharp fingernail clippers may do it. Gotta have the "flush" cutting blades right at the edge though. I use Plato 170 model.

I remember that thing! Just looked it up. Its called a zerostat gun! A static discharger. Darn things are now $115! Maybe you are right and using one of these will solve the rod blank static problem! I had forgotten all about those! Trippin' back to the 70's on this thread.

A degaussing coil like the one used on old TV's was mainly used for eliminating magnetic fields.

If lightning discharges can travel through moist air for some 477 miles, there is nothing on a fishing rod that will stop it in the slightest bit. Not cork. Not eva. Not rubber. Nothing. Lightning will blow right on past it and through it. I spent years repairing lightning damaged systems and can attest to the power of lightning to blow through materials that are supposed to be non-conductive.

You need effective grounding. When I worked on electronics for government we had the same problem. So to prevent this sort of thing our soldering equipment to the tip had to be properly grounded. The surface the electronics laid on for repairs had to be properly ground so there was no differences of potential. Even the humans had to be grounded to prevent a buildup of static charge that cou

A recent analysis from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) found that a single flash of lightning along the northern Gulf Coast spanned 477 miles across, breaking a world record. This megaflash of lightning lit up an area stretching from Texas to Mississippi. To put it into perspective, it's like seeing a single flash of lightning spanning from New York City to Columbus, Ohio.
