Thanks. They kind of piqued my interest as a travel rod. I'll have to follow up with you after you've fished them a bit more.

Thanks Mick. Have you had a chance to fish those travel blanks? What are your thoughts?

Kevin, just a heads up: I think you entered the REVS72ML-3 as a REVS72L-3. Thanks for all your efforts. This is a really awesome resource.

Thanks Spencer and Geoff! Geoff, is the 6'6" favored over the 7'? I've heard how popular it has become for salt water and suspected it might catch on for more fresh water species as well. I might have to build one to try it...

Geoff, What blank do you recommend for "light" slow jigging salmon, walleye, etc.? Thanks.

I have not fished the blanks you mentioned. I fish vertically with the IMMWS62M for walleye using 3/8 and 1/2 oz jigs with plastics. Anything heavier is too much in my opinion, and I use other rods. I measured the power of the IMMWS62M at 362 g. The ETES68ML is listed at 312 g. I bet ETES68ML would handle 1/4 oz vertical jigging just fine. It might be a bit light for 1/2 oz, however. I w

I measured the 732 SJ xray at 443 g. I did not measure the tip angle, but its pretty fast. Its a nice stick. It is a little lighter in power than the IMX 852 with similar action. Hope that helps...

Karry Batson mentioned on a Blank Talk that he cuts the carbon fiber skinned grips with a chop saw after taping. I think it was the centerpin blank talk. Also, Mudhole has the customizable foam that you can add the carbon skin to the top. It may also be an option.

Hey Norm, where are you getting all your NFC CCS data, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks.

Out of curiosity, does anyone use spiral wraps used for long distance surf casting?

Aleks, I know NFC aimed to measure CCS on every blank, have you measured CCS on these blanks? Also, it appears that many/most favor the IM version compared to the HM for this application. Is this correct? Thanks.

Thanks Spencer (or do you prefer Butch?). I found it on youtube. I am not a pro or even semi-competent at facebook, so my inability to view on facebook could be (or probably is) due to operator error. Looks like a fun day on the river!

Norman, I have always been curious how those to Revelation blanks compare to each other. What are your thoughts? Would you have any CCS data? Thanks!

I rarely fish spinning reels these days. However, back when I fished them more, I used to place the freshly spooled spool in a bucket of warm/hot (not too hot) water and let it sit until the water was cold. This process seemed to help reset the line memory, at least to the point the line wouldn't all flip off the spool when you released the bail...

Derrick, how does the RDR710L or RDR710ML compare to the XCC 931? I've been casually looking for something similar to the Lamiglas XCC 931 (since Lamiglas is perpetually sold out) and always wondered about how the RDRs compared. Thanks.

I agree Jeff. I have been waiting for the ETES68MXF to build a heavy vertical jigging rod (~1 oz). But thanks to Batson for providing the CCS values, I think I'll try the ETEC68M instead...

Tejas, If you're still out there, I just received the SJ-732 x-ray today. I have not measured CCS, but doing a quick side-by-side flex of the tips revealed a very similar blank to my 852 imx in terms of speed and power.

I recently ordered a NFC SJ732 in hopes of building a rod with similar characteristics to a G Loomis 852. I have not received my order yet, but I can let you know more when it arrives if you're interested.

Yes sir, you are correct regarding the published dimensions. There was another thread, perhaps on a different site, in which a Batson representative said they were the same blank, just branded differently to market to walleye fisherman. I can try to find the thread if you're interested.

I believe that Spencer is correct. I heard the IMMS68MXF and the IMMWS68MXF are the same blank.

That is interesting Michael. The way you describe the IMMWS72ML, it almost sounds like a 1 or 2 power popping rod. How does the CCS for that blank compare to the REVIP70M? I wonder if the IMMS72ML is a faster version of the IMMWS72ML? Thanks everyone.

Out of curiosity on a related note, anyone know how different/similar are the IMMS72ML and IMMWS72ML?
