Phil: that is great idea. I'll shoot them an email. I probably should have done that first.
Spencer: Yes sir, you even guessed the year of the rod. I've got a couple brown 934s and couple black 802s. Personally, I kind of like brown blanks. It is kind of old school and classy...
Robert: Thanks for the interesting idea. I would not have guessed yellow. Do you know happen to know what

Now that salmon season is over, I have a factory XCC 934 in translucent/root beer brown that I need to repair. Does anyone know a good match for the Lamiglas factory brown thread?
Thanks.

Thanks Roger.
I'll forward your message to my wife next time she asks why we need so many rods! Maybe your words will hold more water than mine...
By the way, I finished that immortal jigging rod and have managed to catch a few fish with it too. It was exactly what I was looking for: light in the hand, perfect power for 1/2 oz jigs, and extremely sensitive. It is a fun rod to fish. I

Thanks Spencer. That guide train sounds like a winner.
For a reel, I'll probably use a 301 sized curado e or something similar. Heck, maybe I'll try to keep really light with a 200 sized low pro...
If I were casting, would you use a larger stripper?
Thanks.

I have a couple questions:
1. Am I crazy or will these little mini guides hold up to hot chinook?
2. How does one choose an "optimal" stripper siz

Thanks Spencer. I don't know much about the Detroit River, but I agree that you need a pretty stout stick to jig on the Columbia.

Wow-thank you for everyone's thoughts on the IMMWS62MXF and CWB75MH as well as other suggestions. It gives me something to chew on.
For jigging rods, in my experience, Roger hit the nail on the head. I am looking for something light, sensitive, extra fast to fast action, with the lightest, most sensitive tip capable of vertically jigging ~1/2 oz. I seek that sweet spot of enough tip to work

I am going to build a rod for vertical jigging walleye on the Columbia River. We primarily use 1/2 oz jigs with trailers, occasionally reducing or increasing weight depending on the situation. I have had my eye on two blanks: the Rainshadow IMMWS62MXF and the Lamiglas CWB75MH. The Rainshadow seems well-liked by many. The Lamiglas Closer blank seems newer, and I have not found many that have u

Spencer, would recommend a 3 or 4 power popping blank for 2 oz bouncers? Thanks.
