Is it a problem to do 30 20 16 10 8 runners if the tip is a 10 or 12? Should not matter right?

Probably just going to go with the xsg as i am keeping the wood handle and reel seat and tip original think ks would look silly.

Stripers probably a 704 and 14 or 17lb mono or 20 fireline. At first i was just going to go with the cheaper xsg double foot stainless guides and practice some threadwork on it as i am a novice but its actually a pretty nice although beatup blank and am thinking i may actually fish it and am looking at those sf rspg recoils they are nickel titanium and are kinda expensive looking at like 70 or mo

Someone gave me an old rod they said harnell though theres no markings think it is though. Going to keep the old tungsten carbide tip looks to be size 12. Cant decide what I want to do for guides think i want to keep traditional style guides thinking either the single foot chrome nickel titanium rspg recoil guides or just go the cheap xsg stainless wire guides. Its a 10' not sure if I want to spe

Just mean i dont want it to change it too drastically. I know 5.5 seems like alot to cut but the rod bends probably atleast halfway down the blank. Will try that thank you

Has anyone ever cut anything off the tip of odm nex114? Its 11'3/4-4oz i want to stiffen it a bit but its already built dont really want to strip anything just yet so thinking about cutting back to first running guide about 5.5" from tip. Its just too loose for throwing above 2ish oz. At about that weight and up its so whippy ive had it hit rocks after cast because of the whip. I dont need t

They arent even that tiny kt 8s just figured i got the whole line of tape widths with my kit. Idk what the point of leaving out a 2 buck roll of tape is, when the kit includes everything else i need as a beginner.

How much of a problem is excess adhesive? Didnt realize till i finishd a wrap that the guide is sitting off blank alittle, planning on redoing it but was just wondering how much of a problem that would cause if gone unnoticed. I adjusted the alignment of said guide and it doesnt seem loose after breaking or loosening bond.

Hey guys thanks for the replies didn't mean to ghost first time back on. I know what went wrong with the build I used too large and heavy of guides for the build. I used crb guides that are knockoffs of the Fuji df sv guides that I had planned for a 9ft surf rod for use with mono. The reel seats were too small for that blank so I just built the sv's on a ML 6'6" rated 14-18lb( I had everythi

Hi guys new to the board. Just completed my second build and have a question about it being like way lighter power now when compared to the blank. I bought two of the blanks so I can really see the difference from the blank. The blank was CRB 661m 14-18 I only bought because it was like 75% from mudhole and the guides I used were the crb sv style ones. I only used these because I was planning to
