Wow, this sounds like it's relatively common , you learn something new everyday , you would think that if long tubes were caught in a conveyer and snapped more so than other packages they wouldn't put them through there but maybe not.

One of my biggest issues is having the thread lose tension the further i move away from where i started and i'm talking just regular guide wrapping in general , instead of snipping the excess after starting the wrap i tape the excess past where the guide wrap ends which helps snug the tension up at the start of the wrap . I know probably the wrong way but haven't found a better way yet.

Jeremy , the durability of the ferruling is the most impressive part about the Fuji graphite seats , the longevity of them after many many years of removing reels and attaching them is truly impressive , they stay rock solid with no slop .

I agree with Tom and Matthew , Fuji graphite seats are as tough as they come and will easily handle what you're doing . Throwing 8 - 10 oz baits from sunup to sundown huh , what a life , you can't get better than that .

Very sorry to hear that Brian , that will really put one in a sour mood. Only thing i can think of where excessive tension could cause rod failure is if the bottom of the guide you're wrapping has a sharp burr that can dig into the blank . The area you mention on the one rod that broke up toward the tip is the area where rods typically snap when high sticked as Norm suggested. Many anglers ar

As Brian suggested definitely go with at least an 18 or 20 reel seat if you expect average to large surf reels to fit comfortably , i went with a 17 mm on an inshore rod and it's a tough task getting it to fit an average size reel in the 5000 - 6000 range . As far as the butt , i strictly do paracord with shrink on top of it , i used to like cork tape but prefer the better sensitivity that i'm

I love the feel and tackiness of Winn Grips but i can't stand all their designs as not a one appeals to me whatsoever . Unfortunately Mudhole decided to stop carrying their highly praised and tacky feeling Quip Grip with a far inferior Quick Grip material thats much slicker when wet and not near the quality of the old. Rainshadows cold shrink i have not tried but it only comes in predetermine

When i have ordered guides at Mudhole the one thing i appreciate is that if the guide is not in stock they tell you , it says they don't have it and it will take some time to come in . Some other outfits don't even do that , you order and when your package arrives it shows a backordered item which is really aggravating because you think the items are in stock. The only problem i have with

Wow, i thought everything was worked out and all confusion was dismissed after Tony said " OK , thank you everybody i will use the Fuji KR GPS " info lol. Tony , stick to the KR GPS like Norm and Fuji's product development manager said ESPECIALLY FOR THE REDUCTION TRAIN then do the static tests for the runners like the others suggested , you will be an extremely happy camper .
