When mixing hi-build epoxy, a spatula is used to prevent the steel balls from rotating about the mixing cup. The spatula is held against the mixing cup.

Used a 1/10 HP, 8000 RPM Dayton motor from Grainger. There's a partially hidden speed controller obscured by the drying motor, which combined with the foot pedal gives good speed control for various uses. Chuck & chuck support is from Pac Bay as is drying motor.

Like Michael said, "Relax." There's a lot of useful thread for we folks. Hate to see them "pass on", however, as they had stuff that helped me get started. Times change. Stan

I forgot to bring an ethernet cable but got one at the hotel front desk. The lady said they had lots of them, but you might want to bring one in case the hotel runs out of loaner cables. Stan

Congratulations on the new book we all want. The time is right, just as the time was right when you began ICRBE, RodMaker and this wonderful forum. I know it will be a great success. Stan

Madiera also has #60 Polyneon thread which is smaller in diameter than #40 Polyneon. The #60 can probably be of some interest in weaves on small diameter blanks. Stan Gregory

Chuck Mills spelled out the most efficient method. That's all that's needed. There's no need to get uptight about measuring Rod Bond, IMO. Just eye-ball the volume of epoxy and hardener on two separate popsickle sticks - and don't contaminate the contents of either stick until they both look the same volume, in case you need to dip for a bit more or scrape some off to get the same relative vol

Great news! I've been to all the previous events and am looking forward to the 2009 one - and I'm only a hobby builder. There is nothing to compare to this event for: (1) learning more building stuff (continuing ed), (2) seeing more new building product, (3) purchasing items at favorable prices, and (4) associaing with fellow rodbuilders. Looking forward to it. Stan

My experience with Fishsticks4u has been one of exceptional service, as it has been with most of the sponsors I've used as a low volumn consumer (hobby builder). I think it worthwhile for others to be aware of vendors who provide such exceptional service, and see nothing wrong with expressing ones's thoughts about positive experiences with vendors. Stan

I've been to all of them and this was the best! Many thanks to Tom for all his hard work for the craft. Also, thanks to the vendors and seminar presenters. They were of the "finest kind", and to fellow builders from whom I've learned so much during informal discussions, etc. Great bunch of folks! Stan
