I read somewhere (on here I believe) that the smaller bottles of Permagloss can be fitted with the metal lids from Testor’s model paint. I just use a self tapping screw in that lid and drip enough into a cup (without completely removing the screw) for the project and then screw the lid back on. Same concept as the can. My best advice is to go to a local fly shop (if you have one) and talk to the guys there and cast a couple different lines. Chances are you'll probably end up with a line that is at least a 1/2 weight heavy maybe even a full line weight heavier than it is rated i.e. A "heavy" 6wt line or a 7wt line. I am approaching 42, been building for about 5 years. And I do have little ones (almost 2, 5 & 7). But I can see how they could put a damper on building. Been blessed to build the older 2 a couple of rods already and hope to keep doing so for years. Hopefully they will pick up the craft when they get just a little older (but they already have a passion for fishing.)

Thank you Tom, I will probably build or have some stands made as well as a thread carriage. I do like the Alps chuck a bunch, but for right now I have the PacBay upgraded chuck. I try not to look a gift horse in the mouth, ha ha. Eventually I will buy a Custom Power wrapper or a Renzetti, but beggars can't be choosers and I'll work with what I have for now. Spencer, I had wondered exactly that about the beds. Appreciate it. I think that the PacBay and AmTack are the exact same parts (at least the upgraded chuck, tail stock, tool rest). At least the AmTack stuff in the catalog looks identical to the PacBay stuff I have with different labels. Robert, I used to work part time at a scrapyard and would take the turntable motors out of microwaves...Most are in that 3-7rpm range, but I have pulled a couple that were 36rpm. Most are also 120vAC, but there were a couple that were stepped down to a smaller voltage (those got REALLY HOT when you hook them up to 120v laughing at myself) I don't know if I would use it for a drum style dryer, but
