I also use the plastic ties, but when using the Batson's, I go out to the small bench grinder & gently file down the plastic. Even though they are 1/2 the width afterwards, they still work perfectly & it gives you twice as much thread on the guide before you cut off the plastic tie. It eliminated the possibility of the guide popping out on you. Jeff

I'm not prepping either the Batson or the Fuji 3.5's. I'm not sure whether I would even attempt to throw an accent wrap on these things for fear of durability on my bass sticks, but it doesn't mean they are weaking the wrap, just my thought at present. One of the reasons I ask about the Forhan wrap, or the absence of it, is the ramp it creates on my guides when applying finish. It doesn't hurt an

One of the important things Micro Guides are closely tied to is a thing called balance. They have completely changed the way that I now balance my bass sticks. My reel placement has considerably been changed by these light as air creatures. I also have a question regarding the Fuji Micro frames. I see they are serrated on the top of the frame. Are they placed there to assist in holding & if

This post wont be nearly as serious as this thread seems to gone, but........., after learning, testing, fishing with these new micro setups, I had the opportuniy to finally have several rods of these rods on my boat for my guide trip clients. My client yesterday used one all darn day & boated 17 bass, mainly because I'm a great guide (for those of you who don't know, I'm just kidding about t

I agree with Alex. I have both of Dale's books & if that had been all I ever had to learn the craft, I'm afraid I would have dropped out years ago. I would suggest that anyone who see's a question that bothers them, that they simply skip that thread & move on to a more advanced thread. I asked so many questions when I first began that must have irritated a few, but those that took the tim

Mr. Stevens, that is not my real name, but it has worked up until now. Hopefully, the law doesn't monitor this channel so I'm not forced to change it again. I am extremely disappointed that we'll not be together tomorrow, but I will pick your brain during the week in order to keep up in some pathetic manner. Bobby was great help to me today also! Thanks to you both!!!!! I'll start the search for

I thought AllStar used the IMX10 wording & then changed it to IM10X after Loomis got sideways about it. I'd have to look at some of my old AllStar catalogs, but my old brain remembers it that way.

Bill got is power back yesterday afternoon & is doing as well as can be expected. I'm sure he & his wife are glad to have the A/C going again. He'll be back very soon & can fill-in the details.

I just spoke w/Lance. His area was in the direct path as it came ashore. He really came out of it lightly damaged, compared to his neighbors. I will let him tell y'all. He says that power may not be restored for a couple of weeks. The Red Cross came by & provided them with cases of water & cases of MRE's.

I recently became a Castaway blank customer through Swampland (Bill Stevens). I received my blanks last evening. I sent Bill an email thanking him for the quick delivery & within a couple of minutes I received a call from Bill. He wanted me to know that he had just received a call from Castaway with some bad news. Castaway had a breakage issue with a certain blank. The blank had passed Castaw

I wasn't dis-agreeing about the line movement, as I'm all for longer rods, but you still need the power in some applications or you simply wont bury the hook.

I don't see how power is not in the equation as part of the hook set. I see the length of the rod is crucial, but I also know I don't use a light power rod to go froggin' Just my thought

I there anyone that might still have any of the GB Electra threads for sale? The Electra Black, & the Silver in both size A & D are my greatest wants. I would also be interested in any of the other colors (would kill for the red, which has been hoarded by a fellow who frequents this board. :-) )
