Can't help with this, but check out your "messed up finish" post from 28 days ago. Lots of people were hoping for a reply from you to see if you had any success with your finish after posting. You had things stirred up a little around here. lol!

I'd probably think it was the most sensitive rod I'd ever fished. Told ya I was cheap!

Insert the syringe, turn the bottle upside down and allow bubbles to rise in bottle, there's always a little air trapped at the very end of the syringe. Draw some finish (very little ) and slowly expel it back up into the bottle, a few more bubbles will now rise and you should be good to go. If you're using D-2 be careful, it sometimes can leak back between the bottle inserts an the syringe tip

Great post Jason. I find 1/3 o.z. overweight a bit disappointing. That is the way I'd test sensitivity also, but I'd have a floro leader on it cause that's the way I'd be fishing it.

You might microwave it for a few sec. and see if it improves. If you use equal portions of the good part it should be o.k. I'd get it replaced either way.

I only use fitted seats with a cutout that allows the finger(s) of your rod hand to contact the blank. e.g. Fuji ascm and others. (Some don't like the acsm, so look at several types.) These require no arbor and are glued directly to the blank but you have to know exactly where you want it to sit when ordering. (It's nice if you can order the seat at the same time as the blank and have the suppl

It might just be me and I might be entirely incorrect, but when fishing the types of lures you mentioned I'd be using one of my least sensitive rods, saving my most sensitive for bottom contact baits which are what I would use to judge sensitivity. What rods have you used that you feel are more sensitive? Just looking for clues.

Reading past posts eliminates the "I wish" part. You'll see posts advising not to use a tack cloth also. You still gotta figure out who's right and who just likes to talk.

And another thing while I'm at it. If your sanding off excess finish starting with 800 grit, you might as well wave at it and hope for the best. I would start at no finer than 150. I just did this yesterday and used 1 block at 85 grit and nothing else. Put finish on and it's perfect. I keep the paper clean with a small brass wire brush frequently while sanding, the paper loads up quick and once t

When sanding finish to get rid of high spots, sandpaper should be mounted to on a flat smooth wood block. If you use the paper unsupported your fingers can follow the contours in the finish. Your'e just trying to lower the high spots in the finish. The flat block aids in this. I use blocks from a Jenga game with paper mounted. After sanding just brush off loose dirt and apply the next coat. All sc

If the bubble hasn't already popped, pop it, and next time you mix finish put a small drop on it with a toothpick.

If you store it ( in it's original bottle) upside down in a baby food or similar jar, the air space will be a the bottom of the bottle.
