Lynn I agree I wouldn’t have it if I didn’t get a deal. Plus I wanted to witness the hype. And I agree about the replacement lol. Just wish daiwa would just sell the guide. I’m not shipping a whole 7’6” rod to have a guide replaced.

Seen pricing on @#$%& for a replacement and no way will I pay $100 plus for one guide. Also not keen on shipping a rod back to manufacture to replace one guide. The guide I need to replace is the stripper guide off a first gen steez ags 76mml. Took rod sleeve off rod and noticed the stripper had a lot of movement to find the guide foot is cracked. The id of the ring measures out to just under

I have the HS9600. I bought and built that blank for hair. Lol honestly never used it for hair. Once I received the blank it seemed to have a stronger tip than I ever expected. It’s now my favorite rod for launching small swimbaits even used it throwing lighter tubes. The rod I use now is a phenix 76M umbx. Phenix over rates their blanks. The M power rating is more ML not remotely a M power b

I used falcon rods back in the day and as mentioned I was also under the impression they were shikari. I loved those falcon expert rods and the cara line. Wish I never sold those rods

I have nrx rods I have custom sc5 blanks a custom kistler Zbone. The point blanks are right up there I actually feel of the rods mentioned the kistler Zbone built on a X-ray is the least sensitive of the group. The point blank seems to just float in my hands

I need to do more research on nfc. Always had trouble understanding their rating system. Always expected them to be similar to loomis. Can you elaborate on those 2 blanks comparing to any blank or factory rod to compare.

Currently own 2 each nrx 893/894. Love the blanks. Balance is mediocre but very lite in weight. Sensitivity is the gold standard. However I can’t get comfortable enough fishing these rods the last few years. I use to have and loved my falcon 6’-10” rods so I think the problem is the overall length. I also have built the Rodgeeks 4 series 76mhmf and the liberty 764. I got caught in the longer is b

I also find their spec page far more accurate of the blanks than some of the other website pages. On the spec page they state the H is rated to 1.25oz. That sounds much more in line than 2oz

I have 2 of the 7’mhf. Their my favorite rods. As for 2oz lure rating that seems high to me for a H rated blank.

Yeah my intent was a casting stick bait rod. Light braid with a leader. Thought maybe would make a good jerkbait rod shortening the back 5”. Or keep as is for a open water tube rod. But I always prefer the smoothness of a spinning setup for that

Fritz is also a strong advocate for braid now. I like mod blanks and glass when throwing light weight baits

Bought the above blank 2 yrs ago. Think they described it slightly different. Had the thought of building it casting and went through with that process. Well over the 2yrs I never used it much and when I did I didn’t care much for it. Is it worth it to completely rebuild this blank? I feel I’d have far greater use of it as a spinning rod. Rod was built simple spiral so really rebuilding could

The stripper is a size 10 followed by all size 5 to the tip utilizing a simple spiral approach. Rear grip is 9.5” followed up with a ecs seat. Love how the rod cast. Never had a blank this soft before though. All my past crankbait rods whether glass or graphite have been higher powered rods hence my reason for choosing this blank for balsa duties. For my own ocd I’m going to move it to 16”

Just to clarify I didn’t pick up the gallon. rod is not powerful enough for that. I just used it for a anchor point to deflect the rod for static testing

So I bought a Rodgeeks 70mm s glass rod for balsa baits. Guides are setup and I’ve test casted and static loaded the blank. Simple spiral setup. Casting is awesome everything I wanted. However under static load the blank seems to never stop bending. Line through the guides under load appears to be spot on. However right now my stripper is 18” from the line guide of my reel and the line is tou

St croix sc5 76mf or the ml. One of the best blanks made for smallmouth. Wish Rodgeeks offered them in the sc4 series. I don’t think I’d be happy with a sc2. St croix can’t build a rod that great but their blanks are excellent Lance suggested the hotshot blanks also very good choice. NFC is not the only that offers these blanks. I have a mhx hs9600 I use to launch small swim baits and at time

Looking for casting build blank recommendations for throwing balsa baits. I’m not concerned with casting small Shad raps more so your 1/4oz flat sides around different types of cover. My initial thoughts are mhx843cb bushido crank/popping 72M. Also looking at factory rods as I’m not sure I’ll have the time any time soon.

Yeah I’m thinking that the rod sliding is the issue cause there’s nothing else I can point to. Good thing is they all only lost 3” tops most got fixed by reattaching the tip top or doing that after removing a guide. It’s just sickening when you dedicate the time and money and have something so crazy happen like this. In 30yrs fishing knock on wood I have never broke a rod or guide except thes

I thought about them sliding but every time I open the rod box the rods are right where they should be. Plus my rod boxes can easily handle a 9’ rod. So yes they have room to move but I’ve never found one shifted to the front not even remotely close

Guys I’ve been a little plagued with spinning rod breakage issues. Over the last 2 years I have broken at least 4 spinning rods all within the tip section. All rods were discovered broken when removing the rod sleeve. Some had line ran through others no line. None have broken while fishing all came out of the rod box broken with the rod sleeve on. I don’t use boat rod tubes have not in many
