I'm wanting to build a worm rod for personal use. I like it fast and heavy, 7' 3" or 7'6" having trouble choosing, high mod or just graphite.
it will be used on East Texas lakes - Fork, Rayburn , pwr plants and smaller lakes as well.
current rod is SVll 7' . Question is -size vs. weight just looking for personal opinions. Thanks

I built a wacky rod with rubberized rings mixed with natural cork , handle feels great has only .5oz added weight over all cork. flippin rod is a tip up so tail weight helps

I used a MHX s842 for my senco and wackey works well , I did it with spiral and micro guides

Roger, my thought was to restore it , rod is separate from handle secures by twist collar. have matching president reel.
It was my Dads rod , I was going to see if Basspro might want the set

I have a 1953 Shakespere Wonder Rod w/case, loked at after a few years, and the thread was missing on a couple of guides.
Question is - rewrap with epoxy or without, came with out, cork handle has held to many hooks in its life
