Hello All,
The article "Random Paint Wraps Revisited" by Ron Harris was recently published in Rod Maker magazine, I found it quite interesting,
However, I tried it on some test spools of thread and the paint stripes spread to 1/4" wide to 1/2" wide. The other issue is the
paint is being absorbed by the thread so much that the paint color is dull and not a bright white?

Hi Guys,
I am looking for a 6'6" spinning rod blank, fast tip and medium action to throw weightless flukes.
I see in some of the posts that this Batson/Rainshadow blank would be good for t this purpose:
RX8+C812 6'9" Medium Fast 8-14 1/4-5/8oz. 1.85oz. Satin Black-- Senko Special.
However, this blank is not longer being manufactured... Is there a newer model or a similar mod

Hi Ryan,
I see that the Titanium Chrome is an RX8 rod blank. I have fished with the RX7 blanks. Would you say that the RX8 blanks are much
stiffer than the RX7 blanks?
Thanks for the info on Rainshadow blanks.

Hi Guys,
My customer has a physical limitation and need to hold the rod in the crook of his arm. Larger banks are difficult for him to hold.
I will check out your rod blank suggestions.
Thank you very much

Hi Guys,
I need a Medium Heavy Bass fishing rod blank that is less than one half inch in diameter at the butt?
I would like a light ~2 oz, high modulus blank that is 6' 6" long. Cost goal is $100 or less...
The rod will mostly be used for worm or shaky head fishing.
Suggestions Please?
Thanks,

Hello fellow rod builders,
I have a problem applying ProKote Medium build to decals on my rod blanks.
I am making water slide decals with my ink jet printer. After I make the decal I coat
it with Krylon Acrylic to seal it up. I next apply the decal to the rod blank and then wait at least
24 hours before I apply Prokote.
Some areas of the decal the ProKote will not adhere, it just run

Hi Guys,
I am looking to build a Shaky Head rod using one of the MHX High Modulus rod blanks.
Anyone build one of these blanks and used it for 1/8oz or 3/16oz shaky head bass fishing?
Thanks for your inputs,

I am fishing in Texas and catch everything from 12" bass to 8 pounders. Most of the areas do not
have much brush. I do fish around docks but they are not usually an issue.
I have been using the Rain Shadow RX7 822.5 X-Fast. This is a 6'10" rod. I am looking for a rod blank
that would be more sensitive with the same specs...
Have you tried any of the HM HMX blanks from Mud Hole

I normally throw 1/4 oz to 1/2oz spinner baits and retirve them just under the surface. I may snag it on the grass or need
to jerk it free.
The XSB802.75 seems like a really light balnk for a spinner bait. Isn't that blank usually used for drop shot rig or a shakey head?
Thanks for your inputs.

Bill,
You can try PowerPro Super 8 slick braid and the hiss will quiet down and you will be able to cast farther. You may also hear the hiss when you
are retriving your lure.

Yeah, I have hearing loss and ringing also... To much fun with the shotgun.

Hi Guys,
I have a basic hand wrapper HW1 as listed in the Mudhole catalog. I have wrapped about 15 bass rods by hand using this tool. A friend gave it to me when he bought
a power wrapper along with a finishing motor. So far I have been able to do just about everything I want to do, maybe a little slower than with a power wrapper.
Hi Mike Barkley,

26. Re: Broken Rod
I spent a lot of time on the split grip mesquite handle including a hologram wrap in-between. So, I would like to reuse it if I can.
I have not heard yet form MHX guys if they will cover the cost of the blank.
Thanks for all of the ideas.

27. Broken Rod
Hi Guys,
I have a broken MHX heavy action 7' rod.
What do you think about reusing the handle section for another rod?
Say an 8' crank bait rod. I am hoping to insert about 6" of a 7' crank bait blank
into the handle of the broken rod.

Does the BATSON RX7 ISB802.75 have enough back bone for a good hook set with a 5 " Senko?

I think that blank is $150 plus... too expensive... I need something cheaper unless you have a better source
