I am in the planning process of a med/light spinning rod for panfish and small bass that is john deere themed. I was thinking of putting it on a matrix green blank (leaning towards a AMP843 blank, but any better suggestions is welcomed). Wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what color thread would best match the green in the matrix blanks. Also, any other ideas towards the deere theme

Got my self in a little pickle and need to complete a rod by this coming weekend. I have some 12" cork handles that I need to bore out, but I don't have the tools to do it. I also don't have time to wait for the flex-coat reverse long bore from a supplier, but I do have access to the long shank spades and can make my own. The thing I need is some type of detail of how to grind the cutting

The other thing I just want to make sure I'm doing right...does the FET only apply to components and not the cost labor involved?

Thanks guys...that was what I was thinking. Wonder how many selling on @#$%& actually account for FET

Did some searches and didn't come up with the info I need. Most of the FET info goes towards whole rods that pretty much fall to the cap $10 limit, but wondering about smaller components. Basically, if you make a custom grip, what is the FET rate to use? If it sells for $10. I believe the component will fall under FET due to it being something that exists new after component assembly.

I have been overly impressed with a set of slicer/checkboard jigs I purchased off 'an @#$%& site that shall remain nameless'. They have been well worth the money for me. I think the maker of these jigs roams this board (or I have seen them in the photo directory)

Being a novice, I need some help here. I am going to build up a couple catfish rods for myself and a few friends. I settled on the American Tackle blank, E-glass blank GFW701MH (7ft, MH, 6-28 line wt, 0.600 but dia, 9.0 tip diameter). 1 rod will be a spinning blank and the other two are going to be casting
The casting rods will be spiral wrapped....how many guides should I go with. If I u

19. weaving and ncp
I just watched volume 2 weaving of the decorative rod wrapping video set hosted by artie herbert and he stresses many time only using ncp thread when weaving. Just wondering if others weave with regular thread with color preserver and any issues before I purchase the lot of NCP

I am wanting to build a Bass/Pike Fly Rod, and need some suggestions for blanks. First...what weight should I look for...8wt? I have a limited budget, and am looking at either a RX7 Rainshadow, Matrix, or St. Croix SCII blank. I have used the SCII blank on a Ultralight spinner and liked it, but it is about the top of my price limit. Are there other blanks that should be concidered?
Thanks
