They are my light (for me) tackle trolling/livebait rods I use them with 20lb mono on a tld15,they handle sails no problem. I actualy think I would have been better going with a 600L blank as I think these are slightly slower in action (fast as apposed to very fast) the 600xl has a very fast/soft tip and is very stiff for the remaining 75% of the blank (as it is suposed to be) I think a 600L woul

I have a 2 year old Calstar Grafighter 600xl conventional custom rod that has a slight bend downwards at the second guide from the tip (only apparent when you look along the blank), the guide is a size 10 fugi mnsg. Is it possible that the guide feet were not quite streight and this has caused the bend, and if so would removing it streightening the feet and rewhipping get rid of the bend, (the gu

I am considering having a 6ft light tackle 16-20# saltwater rod made on a calstar 600xl blank with a fugi dpslbd (20s or 22s) ferruled reel seat to reduce the rod length when traveling the rod would be used with a shimano tld15 reel, has anyone used these reelseats and do they hold up to light to medium duty saltwater fishing with 20# test mono Regards Gary

Sorry for not being clear , I am worried that if the blank shuts off much further away from the tip than the 760L then the action will be too slow (with 4 inches off the butt the 760 L still has a fast action) has any body cut 10 inches off the butt of a 765xl and what was the action like ( I know I could go with a fast action 660 e glass blank and 5ft 8 inch would be ok ,but I would li

Bill have you ever cut a 760L down to 5ft 8inch overall length and was the action still fairly fast, looking at the taper on this blank 9/64 tip to 0.84inch but I am worried that it might be quite a slow action and cutting from the butt might make it too slow for a 5ft 8 stand up I have looked at the 7460L blanks but they are way too stiff in the lower section for what I am after I think they

I am going to go with unibuts because Iam a traveling angler and anything that keeps transport length down is a good thing My 50s and 80s are on grafighter 755h and 755xxh blanks and I really like them (they are 5ft 6 and 5ft 4 respectivly) which is why I lean towards the 760L blank which from the specs is nice and slim like my other grafighters, my main concern is I have not had the 760l bla

Thank you all for your advice, I think invalidating the waranty has to be disregarded in this case other wise how would you build a rod with a unibut,my main concern was moving the shut off point too near to the but and creating , i think you say a noodle like action- I am looking for a medium fast to fast action anyhow most of the rods I have broken - and I have broken quite a few - have been

I am looking for a blank to cut to 5ft 8inch to make a 30/40lb stand up rod, my 50lb rods are gf755h grafighters with straight unibuts and rollers i am very happy with them can a calstar gf 760L be cut from the but end to give an overall length of 5ft 8inch with unibutt to give a nice 30/40lb action without moving the shut of point too near to the butt. The rods will have sic guides and double
