1. CRB rod help
I recently purchased a CRB model CIS78M blank to build for party boat fishing for yellowtail etc out of San Diego. It would be helpful to receive suggestions on the number and spacing for guides. I plan to use a conventional star drag reel with it. Most of my experience is with building fly rods, so this is a new adventure. Any other comments about this blank would also be appreciated. Thanks

Just purchased a CRB CIS78M rod blank to build for party boat fishing for tuna out of San Diego. Would appreciate a recommendation on guide sizes and spacing. I will use a star drag reel loadrd with 20-25 # line with this rod. Thanks in advance for inputs.

Fairly new to rod building and having difficulty locating some components. In particular, I am trying to find an agate stripper with a black frame, and, sources f variegated thread. This build will use a Sage Z-axis 8'6"

5. MHX blanks
This question is somewhat related to Grant Gisondo's recent post on long rods for beach use. I would appreciate any comments on building one of the MHX salmon/steelhead blanks as a switch rod. In particular, the ST1262-MHX which 10'6" in length looks like it might make a good switch rod. I also considered the ST1335-MHX which is 11'3", but the 6.0 tip gives me some concern. My main

Hi,
Looking for recommendations on a blank for a (spinning) rod for fishing the piers of Southern CA. The rod is for my adult son who is just getting into fishing. I'm a fly fisher and not sure what works best when you're 30 feet above the water level.
Thanks

I am building two fly rods for the daughters of a friend for Xmas. The blanks he chose are Rainshadow RX7, 4wt, 2 piece. One is 7'6" and the other is 8' in length. I am searching for information on guide spacing, either recommended by the manufacturer or from user experience. (Tried the search function on this site with no result, and couldn't find it on the Batson Rainshadow site.) As
