The Judge I built on is one heck of a crank bait rod. Getting another. Of course this is all personal opinion stuff.

Well I just jumped through the hoops of Instagram installation and saw one of the videos you referred to Billy. That looks pretty slick

Thank you for that first hand information Mr Vivona. Firsthand information was what I was looking for. Appreciate your response.
I’ve been wrapping guides with thread for about 3 decades but things change. Stumbled upon this video and was curious. Again I appreciate your real world perspective.

This is the video that has me curious:
I may try contacting this fellow. Wouldn't cost that much to give it a shot I guess but learning curves are pretty steep for me. And too, would hate to foul up a blank in the process. Anyway, was just looking for some firsthand experience.

I didn't find any results for "UV curing finish" at all. Pretty obvious few use it I guess.

I’ve searched here and didn’t see any mention of this product and procedure. Wondering about giving it a shot but would like to hear some experiences with it.

Thank you Robert. That is the sort of information I was hoping for. I have found an Rx6 Rainshadow with a line rating of 1 to 4 lb. Since you do this sort of thing, you prefer glass over graphite? I'll give Utmost a call this morning.

I'm looking for an ultra light blank for small stream trout spin fishing. Fellow has requested a 4'10" length. I've found a decent 5'5" blank but he thought that may be to long. I don't have any experience in this type fishing so I'm kind of lost on this one. He'll be pitching very small lightweight baits and lures.
Hoping someone can steer me in the right direction here.

I'd certainly like to see a video of this. Not sure I'm following the use of power pro to cinch and shape the ends. You running the lathe under power when doing this or spinning by hand?

Wish I knew your secret. I've tried heat shrink many times over foam core but never got the ends where I was satisfied.

I finally broke down and ordered this yesterday. I've been using a DL713 for several years. Last year I added their Dual Control Wrapping and Finishing motor to the DL713. Talked to John yesterday to see what to do about upgrading to the DC777 using my existing parts. He walked me through the parts I'd need and I got them ordered. Pretty excited about this upgrade.

I've had the same experience. I screwed up an order with a reel seat and grip recently. Entirely my error but they sure took care of it. Probably cost them more in time than the parts they helped me with. They aren't the only sponsor on the board that does this sort of thing but the ones that do get my repeat business.

Another thing about Flexcoat, their customer service is second to none.

Had a whip maker braid another handle. This is over a piece of balsa wood.
