Since NH got rid of their tokens for the tolls I decided to put them to good use. It is my first attempt at something like this and it loks like it came out all right.

I got the idea from another member who wondered if inlays could be done with spinner blades. It can and it doesn't look too bad.

Hello; I just uploaded some pictures of my Tiger Eye rod that I just finished. I got the blank from Black Dog tackle and these pictures just don't do these rods justice. They are really someting else to look at in the sun. The rod is a 6'6" medium action. I stained the handle (Tennessee handle) with Minwax Rosewood then put on the cork sealer. Colored the sllde rings with a dark Ruby

I just got my first Tiger Eye Blank from Black Dog Tackle , 6'6" medium spinning, and it looks great! I wanted to wait until I looked at it first before I ordered any thread and guides so I could determine what colors to use. I was thinking of using the Fireball Red single foot guides from Mud Hole. How do think color that will look on that blank? Thank you. Warren.

Is there a DVD or video available on how to use the Wonder Weaver without buying the Wonder Weaver? I watched Doc Ski's video ( which was excellent!) and on that he uses tape to hold the threads. I emailed him a couple of questions on it and got a very quick response. In it he says he now uses a jig instead of the tape. How do you go from left to right and back again if using something like the

Is it practical to do any weaving on light spinning tackle and fly rods or are they too small to do any decent weaving on? Thank you, Warren.

You would want a 7 1/2 - 8 foot medium-heavy action rod, a fairly sensitive handle area so the angler cound feel the sinker being dragged across the bottom. It would also have to take a hard hook set. A Carolina Rig is an egg sinker weighing anywhere from 3/8 oz. up to 1 oz. (the average is around 1/2 oz) rigged with a swivel above the sinker and at least 3-4 feet of line before the hook, sometme

I am interested in looking at some of the Tiger Eye blanks and sent an Email for a Dan Craft catalog and it came back as undeliverable. How do I go about getting a catalog? And who else carries the Tiger Eye blanks? Thank you. Warren.

Hello; I just saw the new 2006 G*Loomis GLX and Bronze blanks on the Mudhole site. They seem rather expensive and they don't seem to indicate why. It states that they are lighter and stronger but they blank weights aren't given and there is nothing on the G*Loomis site about them at all that I could find. Anybody know anything about these? Thank you. Warren.

I am making a 5'6" AMT ultra light spinng rod with the AMT Vetre Matrix handle. I was going to order some arbors for the handle but looking at what came with it, there are 2 arbors, one at the front and one at the end. Would these two be sufficient or how many would you recommend? Has anybody else been building with these? Thank you for help. Warren.

I am in the process of getting the materials together to make a special fly rod for my Dad's 80th birthday in Sept. I have decided on a AMT Matrix, 7 1/2' 3 weight. The problem is that AMT doesn't seem to make the recommended guide sizes for that rod. I looked on their web site and they don't make the tip size of that rod and they don't have the holographic guides in the recommended sizes per

I like the way the Elite and Matrix look but I've only seen part of the Matrix and haven't seen any Elite blanks or completed rods. I've looked at the photo gallery and didn't see any.. The American Tackle site doesn't have any good views either. The Elite and Matrix colors would look like they would stand out from the ordinary usual black or grey rods. Has any body made any and are there any p

While putting on some trim bands I felt a slight nick in the finish on the blank between two guides. it is a slight nick and doesn't appear to go down into the blank It's not noticable to anybody else but me., and since I know it's there I want to cover it up and smooth it out. It may have been there before but I may also have done it What can I use on it? CP, some type of wax? Thank you

I'm building a jig rod on a St. Croix SCV blank and put on a Tennessee Handle with the graphite slide rings on it. I had the rod outside practice casting to test the guide spacings and the handle was very comfortable and did not get cold. The temp was in the teens.

Thanks for the help and the compliments. It took me all afternoon to get it right but I'm not that upset as I figured I would make some mistakes somewhere. The Metalic Gold that I used on the wraps came from Cabelas with a kit. The other thread I used didn't and wasn't NCP and since the guide wraps looked so good it ddidn't even occur to me to think about using the preserver on the other thr

I just finished my first rod and put on a hunter green trim with a gold strand in the center on each side of a bass decal on the butt section. I put a coat of finish on it and the green is now very dark and you can't tell there is any gold in it. I used Cabela's finish on it. I used the same finish on the guide wraps and there was no problem with that (the thread was metallic old with brown trim)
