The original site is back up. The hosting company made some security changes and i needed to make some changes to my access files. Sorry for the interruption in accessing the data. My offer still stands for anyone wanting to come up with the necessary site construction to change it over to an auto-submit system that can't be easily flooded by spammers or bots (or host the site on their own dom

Anyone is free to make their own site and I'd be happy to give them the existing data in a spreadsheet. As it is, I don't have any time to devote to an updated format or to keep it current. I keep the site available because the cost is minimal since it's on a sub-domain to an existing site. If someone would like to build the site, I would be more than happy to host it. The only caveat is

Tom is correct that I've basically stopped adding data to the site due to time constraints. The data can be accessed at this link and I will continue to try and correct the issues with the original site: Sorry for the inconvenience. - Bob

Thanks for everyones extreme patience. I've updated the site with the data for 45 rods and blanks that were submitted over the last few months. There are now about 330 custom & production fly rods, ~380 fly blanks, & about 45 spinning & other rods in the tables. I'm pretty busy these days with my job & building a custom flats skiff from scratch () I've fished once in the

Sorry for not updating the site. My real job and other activities have left me very little time for site maintenance & updates. If anyone else would like to host the data site, please email me from the site. The data pages are updated using MS Excel 2003, an ftp application, and your site has to be able to process a formmail type script to receive submissions via email.. If you're fam

Have Dr. Hanneman send me an email with the results (if they're not in the article) and I'll get them on the site. I've been very impressed with the the TFO TiCr blanks that I've built on.

I have a Taig. I have an application that requires a very accurate diameter so a small, functional metal lathe was the most cost effective tool.

Bill, thanks for the link, but if you go to those suppliers listed in your Yahoo search you will soon find that they stock diameters 2" and smaller. None list a 2-1/2" dia. tube which Clear Creek makes because I have 2 of them already. My original supplier hasn't replied to my request via direct email. Thanks Gerry, I'll try contacting Clear Creek directly.

I've searched all over but no one seems to stock or list the Clear Creek rod tubes in 2-1/2" diameter size. I need help finding anyone that stocks, or might be able to order, a Clear Creek Co. cordura rod tube for a 4 piece rod. The tube dimensions are 2-1/2" in diameter and 32" long. You can reply to me directly at bob@superb&#

The only ones I've seen (concave live center) have MT #1 or #2 shafts which won't fit directly into the taig tailstock. You might contact the owner of this site since he uses Taig components to build custom pool cue lathes... Good Luck - Bob

Hi Everyone, I've done a small update to the CCS Data Site to include a spot to submit CCF (Frequency) data. A column has also been added to each "page" of CCS data to include the CCF numbers as they get submitted. So far, we have one rod with the frequency data. See if you can find it & then congratulate the 1st builder to add the measurement to the site. Thanks Bob Hes

You must have the Java Virtual Machine plugin installed for your browser. The link below will take you to the Java Virtual Machine Test site to see if your plugin is installed and/or working... If it's not working or not instaled, follow the instructions for installing JVM. The only supported browsers are Internet Explorer & Firefox. Bob Hesser CCS Data Site Publisher

I was wondering how long it would take for some one to spot those blanks! Contact TFO to see who's stocking the blanks. - Bob

I'm looking for a supplier of plastic (typically nylon) collet assemblies for telescoping or collapsible shafts. I've found one source but they only offer one size and I know they don't manufacture the collet assembly themselves. This is for a fishing product and consists of a shaft sliding inside of another shaft. Identical to telescoping trekking/hiking poles, paint poles, pool cleaning pole

Hi Bill, I look forward to the article. Adding a column for CCF will not be a problem. As soon as the 1st set of data is submitted with the measurement, I'll note the new information and reference the article in RM. I hope others will start submitting more data, it's been pretty slow lately! Thanks - Bob

Steve pretty much sums up the state of the submissions. In the last 3 months I think all the data, shy of one or 2 rods, came from Steve. I've offered to add any manufacturers numbers for free or even link to their site that contains the information. No takers. I think I've had about 3 complaints (mostly technical issues) about the format, so it seems the data is presented in a reasonable

Looking at their site and the components, the only thing different between this saw and Grizzly's "Ultimate 14" - model G0555, is the metal housing. Grizzly has the old fashioned cast iron frame instead welded, but all the components appear to be exactly the same. Grizzly's saw is also $225 cheaper until Jan 1st. Then the price increases to around $425. Add the riser it and you have
