Thank you guys for all your help!
This is what I have done. :) Link:
What do you think?
But I have now another (NEW) problem ...
I'm building a feeder rod so the first 4-5 guides are big enough to add this over-spiral-wraps.
After that comes really small guides and that kind of wraps are problematic (not easy to do) ...
So, do you have any suggestions on how to wrap all other guides

Guys, thank you for your help!
It's really not easy to understand from the words what I should do. Hehe. :)
Anyone know any videos on Youtube with that kind of overwrap? I can't find it ... :(

Hello, guys!
I want to do a "spiral wrap" like this:

Can anybody tell me how to do it? Or is there on Youtube any video about that kind of spiral wrap?
I have no idea how to start and how to finish a wrap like this ...
Thank you for your help in advance!

Tom,
Thank you for the reply ...
So, I don't need to focus on the epoxy. It is much more important to focus on the sleeves - is that correct? ;)
May I ask you a few more things? ;)
1.) Do you always use the fiberglass sleeves? Ne metter from which material is rod made?
2.) Is it necessary that I oversleep the repair area? When I watch videos on YT and read articles on the web, peop

Thank you guys for your replies and help!
So, if I understand you correctly ...I'm using this FlexCoat Epoxy Glue for rod building:
And I can use it also for broken rod repairs - is this true?
Tom, I also read your article - thanks!
In this case I will need a lot of old rods made from different materials on stock to follow your instructions. Is this true?
Or how do you handle all these

Hello!
I have a little dilemma ...
I want to do one small rod repair (broken rod).I will add carbon fiber sticks in the blank to fix it, but I need epoxy for gluing these sticks into the blank ...
Can you tell me which epoxy is the correct one? Do I have to use the epoxy glue which is used for the gluing reel seats and handles? Or do I have to use the epoxy which is used for guides?

Hello, again!
I still need help with my feeder rod - here are my questions:
1.) The colors of the tips - there are three tips (green, yellow and red). The rod is declared as 60-120g. So, how could I know what color is which strength of the tip?
2.) I have a reel where the reel spool size iz 50mm. I'm planning to add the guides based on NGC. My first guide (which I buoght) is Fuji Size 30

Guys,
I'm looking for color and thread suggestions ...
My handle is Camo (color) EVA + my reel is metallic dark green. Now I'm looking for colors for my threads ...
On a picture (https://prnt.sc/hQGYx6EXe-j-) you can see what I have "on stock" at home - can I use anything of this?
Or is it better to buy and choose any other color?
Gold/yellow threads are METALLIC - are they

Hmm. Indentation?
There is like one kind of spiral - the blank doesn't look damaged, but it looks like it's not rolled correctly at the end (before the part, where the rod pieces will be connected) ...
If it's smooth? Hmm, no - if I go through this "spiral" I can feel it under my fingers.

Hello!
On my new blank which I bought there is a small anomaly:
What do you think, could this be dangerous for braking when the rod will be under the pressure?
Thank you and regards!

Les Cline,
thank you for all the info - so, if I understand all that correctly ...
If I use the Fuji DPS-HPS it's all about the design and how the rod will look like? There is no functional reason to use this "feeder" reel seat?
If that's the case then I don't see the problem with using classic Fuji DPS reel seats (where the threads will be visible). :)
And if you ask me whe

Thank you guys - all this will help me a lot!
One more thing - if I look at the feeder rods in our local fishing shop, I can see that many of them have first two or three guides double-footed. Why? Any special reason behind this?
And about the reel seat:
I can also see that a lot of feeder rods has Fuji DPS-HPS reel seat: The front hood of this reel seat is covered with a Duplon hood whi

Hello!
I'm planning to build a feeder fishing rod ...
Here is more info:
- I'm planning to fish for carp, barbel and other fish on rivers and small lakes
- I will use the reel size 3000 or maybe 4000 (that's max!)
- I will also use the mono line (diameter about 0,18 - 0,25)
Here is a blank I will buy: 12ft (60-120g)
Now I have questions ...
1.) What guides to choose? I'm plann

Hello, guys!
I'm looking to buy the components for my float carp rod and I'm thinking about the DUPLON GRIP.
How good are duplon grips? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Is duplon the same material as EVA grips?
What is better for carp rod - duplon or cork grip?
Thank you and regards!

Hello!
When I'm wrapping my guides to blank and adding some trimms or in-lays (simple things) I notice that sometimes some "visible problems" stay under the thread.
And today I was watching the MudHole video and saw that they had the same problem.
PICTURE:
Is there any way to remove this problem or to avoid it?

Just one more thing - do you use this tool only for aluminium reel seats or for carbon reel seats too?

Good question!
I'm also thinking about the use of aluminium Alps reel seats and now I'm a little bit surprised that they are not so easy to glue like Fuji carbon ones. :)
I read the article and I understand the part which speaks about preparing the blank with Scotch-Brite, but how to do this work on the inside of the reel seat?
Or is it enough just to prepare the blank ("abrade away

Guys,
if I'm building the FLOAT CARP ROD (12ft), can I use the Fuji KR Concept guide placing? Or is this concept just for spinning rods?
Or maybe for FLOAT CARP ROD the Fuji NGC Concept is a better option?

Hello, guys!
I'm reading a lot about the new Fuji KR Concept for guide placing ...
And now I'm thinking what is the alternative for that kind of guide placing? How have people chosen and placed the guides on rods before that?
Because if I go to our local tackle shop I can't see any rods being done by Fuji KR Concept. Why not?

David,
the FlexCoat epoxy I have is new, it's not old! :)
My epoxy application was done in two days (steps):
Day #1: I do epoxy ramps on the handle and this epoxy is OK, hard as it has to be!
Day #2: I do epoxy finish on my guides and this epoxy is not OK, it's sticky!
I know that the amount of epoxy was definitely not 50/50, so I'm 99,99% sure that the problem is in mixing proport

Thank you guys for all the answers!
I used FlexCoat epoxy so I think that there is not a problem in the epoxy quality I have.
Maybe it is really a problem in proportions or in mixing!
So what to do now? As Michael suggested: "put on another thin coat of properly mixed AND TESTED epoxy".
This will be my third coat, I hope this will not be too much epoxy.

Hello, guys!
I almost finished my first rod - wuu, huu! :)
And now I have one small problem, if this is the problem!?
I applied epoxy to the threads and let it dry for approx. 4 days. The epoxy looks nice to me. It's clear, but when I touch it with my fingers it's a little bit sticky. Can anyone tell me why?
The temperature in my rod building room is about 21 degrees Celsius (70 degrees

Tom,
Thank you for your reply!
May I ask you what sizes of guides do you suggest?
What do you think about that combination:
Double Foot: 30/20/16/12/10/8
Single Foot: 7/6/6/6/6
Tip: 8

Hello, guys!
I'm planning my next custom rod and this will be a carp float rod.
My plan is to use: Sportex Exclusive Floatblank 12ft 10-30g
Anyone tested this blank? What do you think about it?
Now I have some other questions:
- What do you think about American Tackle Vortex Air SS guides?
- How many and what sizes of guides do I need?
- Is there any good FUJI alternative?

I used a mechanical method - scraping with a sharp blade!
In the end, everything finished fine! :)
We learn from mistakes ...
May I ask you - why was the epoxy glue hardened so fast? Because of plastic containers? Or?
Thanks and regards!
