Anomaly on my new blank :(

Hello!

On my new blank which I bought there is a small anomaly: [prnt.sc]

What do you think, could this be dangerous for braking when the rod will be under the pressure?

Thank you and regards!

If you bought it from a reputable dealer, they will rake it back and replace it. Or at least they should.

Looks like it might be from the cellophane tape wrapped on the blank before baking to me. Is it a mirror finish NFC?

Is there any indentation when you run your finger over the marked area or is it smooth ? If it's smooth than I don't think it's a structural defect at all because I also have a few blanks that have marks like that and they perform perfectly fine . If you're seriously bothered by the appearance than you have every right to return it but I highly doubt you will have any issues with it .

Hmm. Indentation?

There is like one kind of spiral - the blank doesn't look damaged, but it looks like it's not rolled correctly at the end (before the part, where the rod pieces will be connected) ...

If it's smooth? Hmm, no - if I go through this "spiral" I can feel it under my fingers.

If it's done right you wont feel any discontinuity. It may be OK, but it doesn't look right, and we don't know if it's OK. I would not hesitate to return it.
