I am building two ultralight spinning rods for a guy out of two 6'6" 2wt fly rod blanks. One is a amtak matrix blank and the other is a rainshadow. When I was laying out my guides last night I put the rods together (male into female ferrule), the rainshadow went about an inch and a 1/4 into the blank as expected. The matrix blank however went about an inch longer than that. Almost like I

Mike, I am from Kalamazoo, also a diehard lions fan. I was thinking about trying to make my own decal using the testors paper. I wonder if you contact the front office if they would give use permission for personal use? John

I want a detroit lions logo on a rod, which would be copyrighted. Although, he does have two pics in his photo gallery, one of the raiders logo and one of the nebraska logo. john

My father in law is a professional photgrapher and has a printer that he actually prints his photos on, would that be a better printing option? I am assuming his is a laser jet or something like that, not a plain ink printer.

The other night I found some testors model decal paper on clearance. I picked it up thinking I could make some decals to apply to rods. Does anyone know of a website with graphics for doing this type of thing? I am thinking of taking the logo from my favorite nfl team and sizing it to fit on a theme rod. Any suggestions? John

I also prefer boards where the message that has the latest reply gets moved to the top. On this board if I am monitoring a thread and do not check it for a few days I have to do a search. john

could you possibly inform everyone about these possible problems? I know I would be interested, and haven't a clue as to who Mick might be. I used some sulky rayon thread on an 8wt. I used color preserver and the finish turned out very splotchy. Especially where the thread was not making contact with the blank, like the space between the blank and the guides foot. I think I only used one a

I have built two of the sevier tiger eye blanks. Very nice quality blanks at a low price. The two I have built are a 4/5 and a 10 ft 8/9 that I can not wait to get on the water this fall for the king salmon run.

I know that the loomis venture series fly reel has a shimano counterpart. I too was told they were owned by the same company.

Okay, lets try this again. Sorry about not reading the rules more carefully. Also forgive me if I do not repeat the other post word for wrord, I will try to get all the stuff in this post that I can remember. I started building rods a year and a half ago, december 2003 I believe it was. All the rods that I had built up until my last one had been fly rods. I never really did any decorative
