Hi
my next build is likely to be on an American Tackle matrix blank - 9' 7wt.
Has anybody built on this and what does it cast / fish like.
Thanks

Hi David,

Thanks for your interest in our blank. You will find the Matrix blanks for the most part fast in action. The Matrix weave on the butt sections gives it extra umph when casting and tremendous lifting power. I think you will be very pleased.

Warmest regards, Joe Meehan, American Tackle

I just finished making an 8 wt rod 9'0" for a customer. The rod is beautiful and casts very well. I used a woven green reel seat by ATC and it looks great with the rod.

Have built half a dozen spinning blanks and absolutely love them (Now if we could only get them in Blue! Listening, Joe?)

I'm listening Mike. Let me see I've got requests for Blue, Copper, Purple, Root Beer, Red and Brown. The one that looks like it has the best shot is a clear coat gloss. The Matrix weave just jumps with the clear coat. We've showed them around and a friend of mine ordered a bunch. They should be here in about 30 days. They look awesome. I'll let you know if he wants to part with any. He's got a variety of spining/casting blanks in 7' and 7'6"

Thanks Joe, I look forward to seeing it.
Now, if you were to do a 15' Spey blank...
