Newbie to turning cork? I just purchased a Jet jml-1014 and also purchased the adjustable chuck and mandrel from mudhole to attempt to turn cork handles. The tail stock is on back order so I dont have it yet. My question is what is the correct pressure to put on the mandrel when snugging down the adjustable tail stock. Thanks For the replies. I still not sure of what I need as far as mandrels Head And Tail ect. I have shaped some cork on my power wrapper but Would like to have a jet or similar lathe to do the job. I have no Idea what other attachments I will need to do the job. I have never used a lathe other that my wrapper. What type of head and tail stock what size mandrels Would I need to turn grips for my

I would like the ability to turn cork without it mounted to the rod blank. But would be nice to have the option of both. Also I have no plans to turn wood but If spending the money would like to have the option which I am sure will happen.

I am wanting to buy a lathe to turn and shape cork. I read through many posts about many different lathes,but I need some guidance on what all I need. I am oblivious about all the attachments that I will need . Can someone give me a list of most common attachments and accessories. I am on my 8th build and have found myself spending every bit of an hour plus trying to get the real seat just right on the . How Important is it to have the seat perfect or is there such a thing as having it perfect. What is the easiest way to mark a straight line on the blank or Should I just eyeball it. I have been using a spine finder from mudhole but lining the seat to the marks I make jus

I am torn between the Renzetti and the CPW. I have been hand wrapping up till now ,but don't want to buy something that I will want to upgrade later so these are my two choices. Also What are the pro/cons to the different dryer speeds (ie. 4rmp 18rpm) and do the dryers on these have slip clutches. I have put a few of the sk2 reel seats together and keep having the same problem.Once I have them all together on the blank there is a slight gap between the cork and the trigger. I have also tried gluing them together before hand, and then reaming as needed and that didnt turn out to my liking. Its not horrible but I feel that It can look better. Any help on proper installation of the sk2 would
