I have put a few of the sk2 reel seats together and keep having the same problem.Once I have them all together on the blank there is a slight gap between the cork and the trigger. I have also tried gluing them together before hand, and then reaming as needed and that didnt turn out to my liking. Its not horrible but I feel that It can look better. Any help on proper installation of the sk2 would be appreciated. Re: fuji sk2 reel seat

Same here, what I eventually did was fill it up best I could with rod bond or epoxy then wrapped a dark thread over that and carefully epoxied it, being careful not to get epoxy on the cork or eva, I wiped the excess epoxy off as it was turning on the dryer, very carefully again, I am thinkiing if them clamps that Mudhole sells is gonna help but I haven't tried them yet , hope this helps, I know how frustrating it is when you think its just snugged up there just right then find out later that it like spreads out from the reel seat, ugggg! tight wraps! Clamping together on blank should solve that problem, then after dry, glue nut and hood up. Re: fuji sk2 reel seat

I only build fly rods, but I always use a clamp when assembling a reel seat and cork. Saves a lot of potential problems and then you know it is tight. I made mine from components I bought at Lowe's for $8 and change. Re: fuji sk2 reel seat

Two things:
Occasionally the cork "tenon" is too tight and pushes back once wet with epoxy. SK2 trigger has slight groves inside. Seat cork and turn 6 or 7 times quickly to "sand" off a little cork. Fit should be tight but not push back. Second thing is if you use our arbors, theyneed to be shortened by about one eight inch then centered. This allows room for cork shoulder on one end and shouldered winding check on other. Otherwise cork won't fully seat nor will winding check. Hope this helps. Sorry for choppy text, working from phone today. Re: fuji sk2 reel seat
