I have had this software for about 6 months and have finally decided to use it for a simple maze pattern out of D Clemens book. The wrap Came out really nice but I decided to strip it off and re wrap it using elongated spacing. The problem I am having is trying to figure out how to make visual wrap creat the spacing for an elongated pattern with out the wrap being way to long ? I would like to

Recently purchased a replacement chuck for my power wrapper which is a Pac Bay Rodsmith. I purchased the wrapper about 17 years ago and the original chuck appears to be pressed onto the shaft. My problem is the new chuck has a tapped hole for a screw to hold the chuck onto the shaft and my old chuck is pressed on. The shaft doesnt have a hole to screw the new chuck into place. The new chuck i

Thanks to everyone for your input with these grips. The grips have a 3/4" hole and I need for them to open 1 1/8" . I am going to try the water boiling trick and see if that will work. Thanks

Tom k , Thanks for the input . I scaled back on the original guides that I picked out
and I am planning to buy a few extra twelves since the blank has a 101/2 tip I am going to trim it to
an 11 tip with a 12 ring. So I am going to start with a 12 ring guide and work my way down to the butt guide.
Thanks for your advise it it valuable to me since I have never built a 10 ' conventional stic

11. Corkalon grip ?
I just came across a box while seaching for grips that I forgot that I even had. I bought these grips along time ago they are original Corkalon foregrips 5" long some with 3/4" holes and 5/8 straight and tapered shapes. I was going to put cork tape on a rod that I am in the process of gathering and getting input on component selection. I have never used these grips because I felt they

Ray A , no I am not talking about a spinning rod the thread states conventional !
I have been building rods for over 25 years I am 36 years old if that helps. I just havent
built a 10' conventional before thats why I started this thread. I am looking for experienced
advise regarding guide sizes for the SU 1209 before I purchase the guides. Thanks.

Billy V , I was concerned about line slap on the blank while making a cast
also I was thinking about creating flat spots by not using enough guides.
Do you feel that these issues wouldnt be a problem with a 20 for the gathering guide
and scaling back on a few of the other guides?

I am building a cascade SU1209 for fishing eight n bait or the occasional off
the top of a bridge jigging trip. I am going to use Fuji bmnag concept guides and I was thinking of using these size guides 3-12'S 2-16'S 2-20'S 1-25 for the gathering guide. I would like to know if this guide size set up sounds appropriate
for this blank ?

I have to agree with all the chuck related problems with the Pac Bay unit.
I purchased mine 15+ years ago . I bought wrapper from a rod components
shop in Sloatsburgh NY. I should have returned it but at the time the Clemens
unit that was available cost more than I was willing to spend. Overall its a good wrapper
and the price has only gone up 20 bucks since I purchased mine.

I would have to agree see if the manufacturer will
exchange the blank . Its possible that the coating that was put on the
blank was incorrectly formulated and your problem is the end result.
Tightlines.

From looking at the pic the guide spacing looks ok, but
it also looks like you could add another guide on the blank.
It almost looks like your first two guides near the tip are on the border
of having flat spots on the blank. I would try to add another guide and
move the fourth guide down some more to accomodate the additional
guide. My 2cents. Love that static setup.

I have just finished a St.Croix 3srs100m I think for the price of the blank
it is well worth a look. This blank is rated for 3/4 to 4oz. this is mainly going to be used for plugging
and bucktailing.

Billy 40 , I am having great success with the correction pen .
I would like to thank you for your advise which I have used.
The Rod I am building is a St.Croix sc11 - 3srs100m.
I think that due to the correction pen advise , I feel that the
butt wrap that I put on this rod is one of the nicest that I have done
in a while. Thankyou very much for your expertise and time .

Thanks for all of your replies and helpfull info . I Have given Billy 40s
suggestion a try and drove over to Staples to pick up a Pentel fine point correction pen.
The pen was inexpensive for I think 4bucks I recieved 2 in a pack. I am having really
good results with the pen it makes a nice small dot which is perfect for what I need it for.

Thanks for your help , I am going nuts trying to get this rod done.
I had the rod completed but the butt wrap didnt complement the rest of the rod, so I stripped
off the butt wrap and decided to get fancy with the butt wrap.
I am truly greatfull and appreciate your help .

I am in the process of learning how to wrap intricate patterns, but the
problem that I am having is I dont know what to use to make my marks for the centers on the blank. I used to use a scribe but this blank that I am wrapping is
graphite and I dont want to create fractures in the blank. So scribing is out.
I tried using a marker but it bleed through the thread. I am wrapping withou

Bombers and wooden plugs from the open surf for Bass n blues.

Many thanks to everyone for thier input and time regarding this post.
I was planning on using a size 50 ring for the stripper guide, but my
problem is what size guides to purchase from that point on . I havent
seen an 8 tip with a 10 or 12 ring. I know fuji used to make them on thier
Bnhg series but thier no longer available . I will be using power pro braided
line or Suffix elite with t

Hello to all, I am new at posting here and I thought this would be the perfect
place to ask for advise.
I have a 10ft Seeker Sps 100 that I need to purchase guides for, but I am kind of lost as to what size guides to buy? I already have a brand and model of guide
that I want to use ,Fuji svsg. The blank has an 8 tip and I will probably use a Penn
650 0r750 with it.
