Just wondering if anyone knows where I can order Pink Winding checks and trim parts for a rod I'm building. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have built several rods so far in the last year. I have only built them using Recoil guides... (everyone prefers them) I want to find a set of guides that are saltwater proof and are durable and economic. I would like to stay with Fuji or Pac Bay. If you could provide a little insight to these It would be much appreciated. To add, I am building inshore rods 6'6 and 7' med fast to fast light ac

I tried this Citristrip on an old blank and it did remove some of the finish. I was curious, and tried it on a MHX blank that I had not done any thing with ( raw blank ). I placed a small amout on the very tip of the blank and it seems as if the Citristrip actually removed the epoxy resin that the blank is comprised of. Im thinking that this is not a good product tu use on any blank. Can someone

For some reason, on the last two builds I have had some issues with my finish. I did switch decals (went to decal connection) and thats when I started having problems. I dont think its the decals per say. After applying my decals, and putting a top coat of thread finish, all looks good. The next day, the finish has dried in a rippling or wavy texture. Only does this over the decal area. What woul

I would look at MHX blanks.... I've been building on them for about 6 months now and have had no issues. My customers really like the action. I use the Blend series.

Tom, I guess what Im trying to say is... The areas I had to lightly sand, if you were to take and look at it in the sunlight, you can see a difference in finish in those areas. I would like to try and get an " even finish" look over the entire rod... Is this possible? How would I refinish?

A friend of mine dropped off two of his prized rods for me to replace the guides on. They are St. Croix blanks, and the guides were severely rusted. I have removed all guides and had to sand " lightly " some of the areas where the guides sat (with 400 grit) due to the staining from the rust. How would I polish the entire blank to get that new look, without damaging the blank itself?

Ok..... I did a top coat lastnight on my wraps and noticed there were a couple of blemishes this morning (thread fiber). I sanded with 400 grit just slightly as to get a smooth surface. Will the final coat render the sanded area clean and clear? Or will you be able to see where it was sanded. Im worried that it will be visible once I apply the final coat.

Im new to rodbuilding and have completed only 3 rods. My questions is, is there a better way other than masking tape to keep stripping guides in place and secured just before wrapping. It seems as if the masking tape allows alot of movement when Im trying to begin wrapping. Another questions is, I have gotten the guides close to alignment as I can when wrapping. I make final adjusments after the

I am new to rodbuilding. I am wanting to build inshore salwater rods. I am curious to know what the proper blank selection is. I like the blanks that Waterloo uses in Victoria Texas. What Mfg. should I look at in selecting a blank similiar to them.
