Hopefully one of you guys is following this thread.
i received the fish scale heat shrink and it looks good.
I just wish it was available in green !
I thought of how heat shrink usually shrinks lengthwise as well.
Does this stuff shrink minimally or quite a bit ?
Also, what would be best to fill divots and gaps in a "piece formed" cork handle material? Silicone caulk? Latex cau

Wow !
I've been busy all day. I didn't expect to get this many replies. I've already ordered some of the scale pattern tubing in blue and cross hashed tubing in green. The pictures of the cross hashed tubing on ((that marketplace facilitator website that starts with a E - LOL)) looks suspiciously like the X Flocked tubing. Often places will acquire stuff from China and put their own brand on it.

I was wondering if anyone has used the heat shrink handle tubing you can find on @#$%& ?
I found an old rod at a pawn shop and the fake cork handle is peeling.
It's like cork particle board covered with a fake cork-look vinyl or rubber film.
I had seen the rod handle heat shrink covering on @#$%& and wondered about how it stands up to sweat, sunlight, ozone etc.
I was going to post a pic of

I'm needing a graphite tip section for a spinning rod. I figured maybe one of the builders might have a section where they've messed up or broken the butt section, etc, etc. I'm wanting a charcoal graphite section. The kind that you can see the graphite spirals in the blank. Probably IM6. Of course, IM7 would do.
The measurements on the piece I need are... Length: 40.5" to 41" &

COOL ! Bill, You just (partially) solved another guide mystery that I have.
I have some of those BLG type guides, which I didn't know the maker/(model).
You don't know where some of the "gold frame" of that design are do you?
Or, the model # of the gold ones?
Mudhole is only listing chrome or black chrome.
Thanks, Daryl
(edit) Oops, I forgot I was on such an old post.

No Billy, that's GABRG, not GARBG ! LOL
Ken, Thanks, I'll wait to post a pic until someone thinks they may know of the guides by my description, or might have some personally that might be like these.

This site usually has a good gear motor selection.
I just looked and they don't presently have any applicable AC motors.

10. Guides GABRG ?
I have a (what I would call) partial set of guides I bought a while back.
They were sold to me as model GABRG. No maker was stated.
They are braced, double foot guides with a gold finish. No shock ring.
The frames seem to be made of aluminum or magnesium.
The guides are offset in the frames. One brace is longer than the other.
I'm assuming the longer brace goes toward the tip of the rod.

Thanks Guys,
Eugene... After reading Steve's post, I'm thinking about just replacing the guides on the Regal with aluminum oxide of the same size, in the same positions.
On the Apollo rod, with a large 90 series Daiwa reel attached, the spool lip is at approximately 83". This is with the spool on it's innermost position of the oscillation stroke. Your measurements look good for this rod.

I have a couple of older Daiwa rods that I'm wanting to refurbish.
I'm wanting to go kinda Old School with both of them.
I've searched and searched. All the rod charts I've found suggest seven guides.
I do not want that..... I want as much casting distance as I can get.
The guides I will be using on both are older Fuji aluminum oxide double foot, with shock ring.
Could someone give me some
