Anyone use the Batson RX7 7'6" one piece hot shot blanks? Just got my first one in and it's pretty nice. If so, how did you find durability? Thanks - Marc Keep it simple - that's all I can handle! Re: RX7 Hot Shot Blanks

Marc,
They are just as durable as the rest of the RX7's. You will find them to be sensitive and durable... obviously they won't stand for abuse but they are a fine blank and you really should have no reason to worry about breakage. Re: RX7 Hot Shot Blanks

10+ years and counting on my HS9000, 9001, and 962s, no durability issues. Re: RX7 Hot Shot Blanks

I'll offer the following.
Bought one on closeout. You will never see one in my neck of the woods, and they aren't cheap, so it was a stretch. Was supper impressed to the point I had to show it off to a friend. Too bad this friend really didn't want to play along. So I'm standing on my porch. Friend is holding the end of a short piece of 20# mono tied off to tip of blank as I rear back to impress him of its power. Well, he decides to let go and rod recoils into metal drip edge of roof and I see "little pieces of stuff" falling down. Turns out it was small oak limbs.....and I'm still fishing that blank. I was certain I had ruined it but I didn't. It feels like it will handle a lot of pressure but it also feels like if you go one ounce beyond that it will shatter. Still I have used it for everything from casting lures to snook, to trolling for dolphin, to bottom fishing for amberjack. All I can say is if you find any don't buy them. Inform me and I will purchase them and dispose off properly:) Russ in Hollywood, FL. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
