Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a thread that will give an iridescent green/ black effect similar to peacock herl for wrappings? Cheers JP Re: Peacock herl effect wraps?

Hi Jason,
If you can find it, Gudebrod HT Black Electra 9534 is exactly what you're looking for. There may be another company making something similar, but I don't know of it Take care, Chris Re: Peacock herl effect wraps?

Chris,
Many thanks for that. Looks like I will have to buy it Stateside as I can't seem to find any here in Europe, or look for an equivalent if there is one. Cheers, Jason Re: Peacock herl effect wraps?

Gudebrod is out of business but some suppliers might have left over product in stock. Look at sulky threads as well. They make some color twist and blended threads. Good luck. MH Re: Peacock herl effect wraps?

If you are looking for thread to be used in inlays or as trim you should look at
Kreinik, USA made in Parkersburg W.Va. Look under Fly Tying and under Metallics. I use their blending filament for inlays in 032 Pearl and find it picks up a hint of what ever color thread you using with silverish cast to it. Subdued yet noticeable. They make a peacock in this line as well. In fly tying they also make peacock, but I have no idea as to diameter of this one. The 032 color is about the same diameter as Madeira, slightly smaller than " A " yet slightly larger than what Fuji calls " A ". If you are looking to wrap guides, I would doubt the strength and it will not pack against itself repeatedly without damage, although the Fly Tying thread may well be more durable and stronger.
