Underwrap or not

I'm building a slow pitch jigging rod on a Black Hole 662HMF. I will probably be using Fuji MNSG 2 footed guides. I'm planning on doing an underwrap with size A thread. Is this a good idea? How much will this effect the action and weight of the rod? Re: Underwrap or not

It won't affect the action (where the rod initially flexes) at all, but will reduce the speed (reaction and recovery time) and add a tad bit of weight. However, on heavier jigging rods the speed isn't generally an issue nor is the additional of a fraction of additional weight. If you feel good about the underwrap, go right ahead. Probably not necessary, but I doubt it's going to hurt anything from a fishing standpoint and might buy you a tad bit more durability in the long run. Maybe, perhaps. But again, not much penalty to pay in this instance.
