Looking for guides to a bass rod - jigging, texas and carolina rig mostly. Lure wights up to 1-1 1/4 oz. Rod length 7". The ALPS guides seems like a good choice. is there any other I should take a look at, titanium? What do you think of this:

Mattias,
For a carolina rod, (probably a heavier blank), I personally would not spend the money for Titanium guides. The Alps guides will work fine. As far as sizing goes, if you are going to use braid with a Fluoro leader. I would recommend increasing the ring size, especially on the runner to allow for a knot to pass through the guides, I would not go any smaller than a 5 or 6 size runner and tip top. I would use the pac bay minima 4 tich frame. They have the sizes that will pass all your knots and will be the most durable.
I probably sound like a rep, but I'm not, just my experience... Joe Re: ALPS guides or something else?

I cant say whether the Pac Bay or Alps guides would be the most durable.
But what I can say is: That I have not a a single Alps guide failure since the day they where introduced including their Micro guides of which I was privileged to test before they were released over 5 years ago now. Matias; If you are concerned about the amount of weight you will be throwing? I use the Apls guides including their 3-mm Alps guides on bass rods using braided lines up to 80 lbs, throwing Alabama rigs, and swim baits weighing in the 7 and 8 oz plus range . My C-rig rod has 3-mm Alps running guides. Re: ALPS guides or something else?

Hi Ron
I live out here in the sticks of South Africa and have a problem getting gear for my customers. Although there are a few local suppliers, they tend towards bringing in only the fairly generic Fuji PB and alps guides. As I only need enough for 1 or 2 rods at a time could you suggest where to get small amounts of guides for single customers?Of course the time of delivery is important because these guys want their rods yesterday.
