Rod Review - Has anyone cast this rod?

Has anyone had a chance to check out this rod?

The rod features two tip sections of scrimless high tenacity semi-crystaline copolymer thermoresins formed for reduced weight, high density strength, and fast reaction on the nano level. The blanks used feature unique agressive tapers formed under high pressure and are the lightest blanks utilzed by a rod manufacturer. Boasting a satin white finish, the thrermoplastic resins in the blank shrug off abuse and are dynamically positioned to amplify sensitvity along their entire length.

To complement the blank’s innovations, the guides are strategiclly located for optimal lineflow under all circumstances. Their number and placement will be easily recognized as the lightest guidetrain on the market today. Bar none. The guides boast a modern engineered coating of hexavalient chromium in the .2 - .6 mm range optimized for wearability and corrosion resistance. Testing reveals a Rockwell Hardness 80 to guide even the highest strand braided lines along their path. The exclusive guide placement is perfect for this rod; I can’t imagine how its performance could be improved with additional guides.

Finally, it boasts a state-of-the-art handle exclusevly engineered to resonate line and blank vibrations directly to the palm. Constructed of the same high temperature Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene used in the aerospace industry, its open chamber design acts like an accoustic instrument for the activity of the lure upon retrieve. And, the color is molded right into the suprisingly sensitive design.

The blanks in this rod are proprietary and unavailable to the rod building public. If anyone has cast this rod, or has one at hand, it would be great to get an AA and ERN so that comparisons can be easily made for replication. I think one would look great with a cross wrap, too.

Here’s a video of one in use. Enjoy: [youtu.be]

This was my goto rod in the late sixties early seventies. I truly miss it. Great memories.

You should be in the advertising business.... I was ready to buy one based on your marketing jargon alone.

It is rather surprising, but thousands of fish have been caught on this style rod.

I was watching the discovery channel and a lot of the native alaskans in the winter, use a hook and weight tied to the end of a piece of line. The hook and weight is simply dropped through the hole and the line unwinds off of the spool. To check the line, the line is pulled up by hand. After catching all of the fish for the day, the line is reeled back onto the spool by hand and put back into the back pack for use the next time. It catches many many fish also.

So, there are a myriad of ways to catch fish.

Be safe

What a great post. As a kid, I absolutely had to have this "rod." I knew it would be better than anything that I used in the past. I strapped it to my bicycle and rode three miles up and down hills in order to get to the pond that I knew would give me a big bass for my efforts. When I made my first cast I instantly knew that I had made a terrible mistake. What did WC Fields say about people like me? :-)

I get one or two of these every year for white elephant gift exchanges. They are usually the first gift to be frozen from meeting the required nymber of steals.

I have no interest in that rod. You mentioned nothing of the proprietary manufacturing methods or computer design methods employed. It has to be inferior.
