I'm seriously considering undertaking another new project and would like to gather some informatiion from those of you that build fly rods.
What reel seat skeletons do you most often use and prefer? I don't care about the color/finish just the type: IE: D16; Alps B 101; BUL5; Lemke LC1 or whatever you prefer. Thanks, Ron Re: Reel Seat Skeletons

Your question all depends on what your customer wants. If you have a preference, then you had better be able to explain to him/her why! Re: Reel Seat Skeletons

It also depends upon the weight of the rod your building. I use mostly the Batson products you mention as well as the Lemke LC1 & LC5.
My "go to" for lighter rods is the B101 & the LC1 if the customers budget permits. Re: Reel Seat Skeletons

I really like the REC line of nickel silver fly rod skeletons, the ones requiring round inserts. I use them on rods down to four weight, and have encouraged REC to design similar styles in smaller diameters - to no avail unfortunately as I believe they would fill an open market niche.

3 weight through 7 weight = A7, RA7
8 weight through 10 weight = A8, RA8 11 weight plus = A8.5 Very simple basic style and more importantly - shape - that you can use as a platform to build upon. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
