I just purchased a 60" piece of Kevlar handle material now I have a question what is the best way to cit this without damage to the material I was thinking of warping masking tape where I need to cit and then using a cut off blade in my miter saw. Anyone have a better idea? Re: Kevlar handle material

Abrasive blade on a miter saw would be my first pick. Hacksaw second, Dremel third. Wrap masking tape around and mark your cut line on the masking tape Re: Kevlar handle material

do use tape an try to cut about 1/2 inch off one end , see what works best for you with the tools you have on hand , what worked best for me was the Dremal with a disk [ on hand ] an fine cut also William Sidney AK Re: Kevlar handle material

I'm using a small chop saw with a 6" wheel I bought at Harbor Freight and it cuts the Kevlar handles I use very well. I tape the handle before I cut and then burn any loose fibers afterward. I'm having a little trouble getting the cut perfectly square. Once I get that ironed out I think it will be an excellent setup. I think the tool and three wheels cost around 70 dollars. Jerry,
Tape the ends for sure, a diamond masonry blade on a chop saw works great as it wont chip the ends. Let the blade do the work if you try to force it you will crush the tube.
