"Naked" Reel Seat

I just cast and Amundsun Wind Warrior and where the wood or other reel seat component would normally go was just the metal skeleton so you could see the butt of the rod. It was sexy.
Any idea how to do this?

Could I buy a seat like one of these and core it out?

I'm not sure which of the forum sponsors might carry these, but the Lemke LC3 is ported and you don't necessarily need an insert. It's a beautiful reel seat.

Alps seats have some models similar to that shown.
They also have some with laser engraving.

You probably could You will just have an arbor under the threaded section and under the fixed hood
If it is seen you can paint the ends of the arbors Make them out of wood or something else

Just make sure the insert is a seperate piece and can be taken out of the seat ??

DBlue fishing - who is a sponsor at left and I believe attending the ICRBE - has several seats like the ones you are seeking. I will post a pic of a few I have on hand on the photo page...the left is a spinning type seat and the right is a fly type seat. Hope this helps.

Oh, cool. I see I can order them without an insert.
Now I have too many options!
