Mhx Sj series vs Light saltwater.

Any one know if the Sj 843 has a stiffer top than the L 843. Father in-law wants a trout rod with a stiff top like the SJ 843 but the line an lure weight is less than the L843. He will be throwing jig heads and using a poppin cork. I like the SJ 843 but thinking L843 may be a better choice. He will be using it with a casting reel.

Try a MB843 it will be stiffer in the tip.

I would second the MB843. It has a great tip with plenty of backbone and loads up great!

David,
the L843-MHX has a stiffer tip than the SJ843 and Bob Tanner is correct that the MB843-MHX would be stiffer but for a trout rod I would not recommend the MB843-MHX, stick with the L843-MHX or SJ843-MHX.

Todd
