First off thanks for the help .

His intention for the two rods are

deep diving crank baits, rapalas of several sorts, Spoons with inline trolling sinkers they look like a keel of a small sail boat up to 5 oz.

also using a 3 way swivel drop sinker 1-5 oz.

I forgot the name a clear plastic tube with a pair of wings, .Different sizes- depths 10ft 20ft 25ft 30ft trolling streemers, moose looks exc.

trout, land locked salmon, small mouth.

Good idea on the spirole wrap I have been wanting to do one, any special dos or don't does?

I grew up in new England in the 50 60s with a fly rod built by my dad , trout mainly and up new Hampshire, so much fun I loved more than all other fish at the time the broke trout in the mountain streams, I added the small mouth to that status a few years later.

I live in Maryland fish the Potomac river for large mouth with a 9-10wt. I get some weard looks I do use all standard bass gear also, also like the yellow perch in the Potomac up to 1-12lb with fly.
also the pawtuxant River for rock fish,

Now a days I will fish whenever I can and for what ever is available I just love to fish. I love learning all I can over time its been a lot so far but so much more to learn that's whats great its never ending always, something new.

Thanks again
Curt

Curtis,
Thanks for the update.
From your description, it sounds like the blanks in question will be a nice middle ground for the different techniques.

You can check back issues of the magazine for notes on a spiral wrap.

But, a good starting place is to lay out the guide set as you would for a spinning guide.
But use casting guides, You can use any where from 1-3 guides to get from the top to the bottom of the rod; your choice.
Once you get to the bottom of the rod, you can just use the same size running guides. For this type fishing to make it simple for using any type line and leader that you would like, I would use size 6 or 8 for the running guides and tip.

Good luck
