I am planning to build a Ranshadow trout/kokanee trolling blank as a light spinning rod. I was originally thinking about RDR70L, but I see that RDR76L probably has a lighter tip (which would suit my target application to boot). However butt dia is only insignificantly larger on the 7'6" model, so it might actually have more moderate action that the 7' one.
Now I see that RDR710L has a more substanitial butt and action termed mod-fast. Thing is - the blank weight is quite staggering, compared with the other two. Would anyone care to describe each of these blanks briefly from the point of view of using them for casting rather than trolling lures pls? Cheers, Michal Re: Rainshadow kokanee trolling blanks for spinning applications

The 3 blanks RDR70, 76, and 710 all have similar action and power in the tip area.
However, as the blank gets longer, it gives a feel of being "faster" action due to the graphite lower section giving it some extra "backbone" We have built several of the 70L as UL spinning rods, both for Trout and Panfish. They are very dureable due to the glass upper area. I have one I use as a "casting" setup, use it to "dead-stick" in a rod holder with live bait and a circle hook . No need to get in a hurry when a fish bites, the light tip gives them plenty of room to pull and pretty much set the hook themselves. With 6# line we have caught several bigger fish on it, 10 # plus Stripers, and several Walleye and Bass.
