Kudos to Mud Hole Tackle

Not sure if I'm out of bounds for giving "props" to a vendor, but I'm going to anyway.

This rod building rookie figured out (with the help of this forum) he received and used the wrong thread for his first build. Mud Hole made a shipping mistake. When I called Monday not only were they willing to take back a partially used product and pay shipping charges. The customer service rep got the correct thread (at no charge) into an order that was ready to ship out for me that day.

TODAY the same customer service rep went above and beyond!!! --- I called to pay for the thread I was supposed to return. When she asked why, I had to tell her my daughter dropped the thread case when we were in the Post Office yesterday. The case shattered and at least 2 spools were lost. The customer service rep told me the other thread had already shipped at no cost and would not let me pay for it saying it was their mistake in the first place. SHE DID NOT HAVE TO DO THAT, THANK YOU!

I'm a rookie hobby builder only looking to do about a dozen builds this first year. What a way for a vendor to capture the small customer for life!

Thanks again!
Kent Tawes

I have done business with Mudhole and probably about 6 or 8 more of the sponsors, and while problems are rare, all but one really did their best to work with me and get it right. Even, as with your Mudhole experience, it wasn't all their fault. We are very lucky in this country and in this hobby/business, to have so many very good companies to deal with. I'm continually impressed. And another thing, this forum provides access to many of the best.
