I used lumiseal for the first time and like the way it came out. when I wrapped my guide, I didnrt like the way it came out so i re did it. when i took it off i can see where the thread imbedded into the lumiseal. is this normal? i thought it hardens totally. it has been drying for a couple weeks. does polyurethane do the same? i want to try poly on my next rod. does it crack when the rod bends? thanks Re: question about lumiseal/polyureathane

A little more explanation is needed here. Are you talking about coating an under wrap, the wrapping a guide? Re: question about lumiseal/polyureathane

i wrapped a guide and then took it off right away. that's when i saw the grooves from the thread. Re: question about lumiseal/polyureathane

I know Permagloss will leave thread marks so I assume Lumiseal will also. In my experience they will not cure as hard as a factory finish.

Greg, I am assuming you coated the blank with the Lumiseal and now you are seeing impressions in that coating after removing some wraps that were over the coating. If this is correct, I'm wondering if the Lumiseal was applied too thickly? Re: question about lumiseal/polyureathane

Threads will dig into factory finish also. Flexible finish cannot be rock hard. Possible your tension was too high. To me it won't be a concern. Freddwhy (Rapt-Ryte) Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
