Alabama Rig Blank

I want to build a Alabama Rig rod for my self, preferably 8 ft in length. Last year I used my Duckett flippling stick but was not overly impressed with the performance. What do you guys suggest?

I use a Batson SW967 with good results. It's mod - fast but that's how I like them.

I built one last year using a Batson ISWB945 Swimbait blank. It works well, but I think it is a little overkill for my fishing. I also found that
with my boat (18 foot Triton) an 8 foot rod is a little unwieldy.

The A rigs I use are about 2 ozs, and that is the lower end of the weight rating of the blank.

Chuck,
our best selling model for A-Rigs is the SWB956-Blend, and that is followed by the SWB967-Blend.

A-Rig can vary so much in weight, due to the size of jig heads of plastics bodies that are used. You really need to determine the weight of the rigs you are using and go from there. As suggested, a SWB956-Blend-MHX or SWB967-Blend-MHX blanks are fantastic for the rigs, for both casting and retrieving.
