Lost as how to place guides for a spinner

I have looked at this rod and can not decide how to place the guides. I have a Baston TS70MH rod. This rod is 7 feet (84"). I have placed the Butt grip and reel seat so as the top of the reel seat is 17.5 inches from the butt of the rod. I was thinking of using this rod for reef fishing and some possible trolling. The reel I would like to use is a Shimano 4500 bait runner with 30 or 50 pound mono. The diam. of the face of the spool is 62.02 mm. If you take that times 27 equals 1,674.54 mm (65.307" this would be at the tip of the rod.) for the choker guide.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

The article in the library should answer most of your questions.

30-50# mono sounds way too heavy for a btr-4500 reel. I fished 15# on mine.

If the choker guide location is beyond the tip of the rod, then the tiptop will be your choker guide. Space the other guides up that point as specified in the article.

you may want to try another approach.
look at a Fuji spacing chart
(you have one here: [www.rodhouse.fr])
except that for a MH rod like yours, I'd go 30 / 16 / 8 then 6s up to the tip. In my experience, it works really good.

x10 on Laurent's comments.

Also, you can go to Batson, St. Croix and other web sites which have suggested guide spacings as well as guide size.

But casting rods don't have to deal with the same motion that spinning outfits do.

i would recomend taking a few minutes and look at the video that Fuji has on thier web site it explains well the difference on how line flows through guids both casting and spinning.
