Can anyone recommend rob tubes with dividers built in for 3 pc spinning rods that are 7 feet long? Right now, I am finding Clear Creek and then there is Clear Creek.

Look at rifle cases.
easier to store(flat)
come with foam inside so easy to customize.
Price is good too.

Build a wooden, octoganal, one like Mark Crouse and a rod sock for a three piece rod. you then get to pick the wood species and finish. Custom :)

Tony,
Make it very simple.
Take two bread bag twisties, and use the twisties to hold the three rod pieces together.
Then, pick up the smallest pvc tube that will accomodate the rod - typically a 2 1/2 inch or a 3 inch tube. Put a PVC cap on each end. Glue one cap on the tube and sand the other end as needed to make the opposite cap removable.

The twisties are free and the tube will cost you about $2. Also, this tube will give you the minimum travel space needed for your rod.

Be safe

I am sure that everyone has some beautiful decal's to put on the tube.

Simply put, a simple PVC tube is much more practical than any sort of box. Also, it is much more compact and stronger.

I have an industrial sewing machine and make a lot of things on it.
One of the things that I make for myself are rod traveling sacks. I used to carry a large 4 inch tubes to take the dozen or so rods that I normally take on a trip. But, I found that it was always bulky and in the way and it would roll around. Since I did not need the protection of the tube - with the rods on top of all of the other luggage, I found it easier to make about a 3-4 inch diameter sack 8 feet long that takes care of all of my rod carrying needs.

I'd like to know where to get a PVC tube for 2.00. A four foot cut off sells for 5.00 to 6.00 at my local Lowes and Home Depot.

Swampland.
Buy a 10 foot tube and then chop it to length.

The 10 footer is $7.50 and for a three piece travel tube, should be able to chop it in 3rds for $2.15 each.

Thanks to all who replied.

I ended up ordering some custom length tubes with dividers from Clear Creek. They asjed me for length of the longest section and I did not realize how much difference there can be between sections on a spinning or casting rod. I have not found that with fly rod blanks.
