Thread color on Bass Pro rod

I have been lurking for some time, and I have learned a lot from this site.

I have two Carbonlite rods to repair. I am unable to determine what thread was used on the early Carbonlite rods. I can match the trim colors, but not the main wrap. I'm pretty sure it is a metallic thread, and it looks like a dirty copper or a mocha. Does anyone know of a good match?

Thanks in advance.

If I am not mistaken it is pewter. Don't know if iris still made but I picked up several discontinued spools a few years ago. I believe it was fishhawk.

Maybe try the pro wrap pewter 9810.

I'm holding a Pro Qualifier and a Carbonlite side by side under a bright light. The main wraps look the same color. Looking at an undisturbed wrap (through the epoxy) they look yellowish/greenish/brown. Where the guide is missing and the thread is hanging bare they do in fact look like pewter.

Thanks for the reply.

If you can take a guide off Try to keep the thread in as large a section as you can
The underside should tell you very close to the color I then try to match it to a thread color chart If two or three seem to match get them Then put them on some scrap and coat to be sure I would Guess they did not use CP ???

That is good advice. I can take about half of one wrap off intact, so it should be easy enough to match it to one of the online sites color chart. Thanks.

the bps repair shop uses pewter thread for repairs on the carbonlites and most of the pro qualifiers
