Cork jig creep

When I cut slices with my cork jig I'm using my fingers as downward pressure and then the saw is applying horizontal pressure.
The result is that the cork jig slides around on the table top.
Do any of you guys have something that you lay down under the cork jig to keep it from sliding around?
Many thanks.
John M.

You can probably put a wet/damp paper towel down, that's what I put under my fly tying vice. I used to use a mousepad (remember those things?)

You can by rolls of anti-slip rubber at many grocery stores or home stores. Look in the department for shelf lining. It works great. It has a pebbled surface and wont slide at all.

A very simple thing is to clamp it into a bench vise.

I'd a very shallow hole the size of the jig with a forstner bit in a block of wood and clamp the block to the table. If you don't have access to larger bits, you can build a frame out of thin strips of wood and use some epoxy or hot melt glue to attach them to your surface, then set your jig inside the glued down wood frame.

If you can get one of those wood clamps that are used for a cork clamp and just clamp it down

Rereading your post What about just cutting buy hand Just don't cut your finger off Cork is easy to cut

Or - glue several pieces of cork together then put them on a lath and with a Compass with a marker on it mark and carefully cut Cut 3/4 of the way though take it off and hand cut the rest of the way Run over sandpaper
